another great book from Mr. Jones
This is already third book from Mr. Jones what I put to my library - I like this concept when on same questions you have answers from more professionals outfitters. I never saw so complex advise for grizzly bear hunting preparation. Thank you Mr. Jones for another great book. All hunters have to have it in library if they hunting for grizzly or not.

Good read. Guides were asked a lot of questions
Good read. Guides were asked a lot of questions. I think by the end of the book they were tired and many of the questions were duplicates with the same answers. All guides have a different opinion on hunts and hunters.

Read one interview, you've read 'em all
The author has apparently developed a formula that has put a few bucks in his pocket but not done much good for anyone else. The Ask The <insert animal> Guide series seems to be little more than an aggregation of responses from a handful of guides that took the time to reply to a set of questions about hunting a particular species. I got the sense that the guides weren't really interviewed, but were rather sent a questionnaire and got to be in the book if their responses were sufficiently fulsome The answers to any one question tend to be the same across all of the guides. The questions themselves are not particularly probative, and the answers are generally short and often rambling. Once you've read the first one, there is generally little need to read the rest.Apparently some readers found this book to be valuable, but for me, it was a disappointment.

Excellent book! I lived in AK
Excellent book! I lived in AK, '72-'92, and know people who have hunted/taken brown bear. I have seen big bears while caribou hunting on the Alaska Peninsula. You might want to include this book into your preparation if you plan a grizzly/brown bear hunt and BELIEVE what the guides are saying.
