This Fan Has Many Uses
Its starting to go into the dead of summer now, and my bedroom always gets very hot. The sun shines right through the window, making everything warm to the touch. When using the computer, or playing videos games, I will sweat due to the heat. I went out and got a few nice fans, but I still run into problems with some electronics overheating. I can just plug this into the USB slot on the computer, or in my PS3. Furthermore, since this is USB powered, you can hook it up to a USB power bank and use it whenever.THE FAN:It gives off a nice breeze. It has enough force to blow a single piece of paper across a desk, but the breeze does not carry very far. Maybe only 3-5 feet until you can barely feel it. The frame around it is completely plastic, along with the blades. It is probably like this in order to make it less expensive, but the plastic on the frame is so cheap, you can easily snap a segment off. I've already accidentally broken 2 segments off. It's not a big deal, but if you have slight OCD like I do, it is annoying to look at. The fan that I recieved looks different than what the picture looks like. The base of the fan doesn't go as low. There is a curved bar that goes around the front of the base, and another one in the back, allowing it to be more stable on a flat surface. The base is set up so that the fan can rotate 360 degrees up and down, which is nice if you sit too high up or too low down on your desk or something. You can just adjust the fan a little. Also, there are little styrofoam-like pieces on the bottom that act basically like rubber stoppers. They give the base more grip to the surface they are on and they greatly reduce vibrations from the fan to the surface it is sitting on, making it even quieter. On the topic of quietness, this fan is great. From up close, you can hear the fan, but it is not loud, and not annoying. It is a gentile hum, one that you might hear from an idle computer or gaming console, but maybe not as loud. If you are standing a fair distance away, you can't hear it at all. If there is no need to run the fan, there is an On/Off switch in the back that is extremely useful. The cord for the fan isn't as long as I thought it would be. It is only about 3.5 ft long.USES:I have used this fan for many things. Mainly, cooling any electronics. Like I said before, my computer likes to overheat when playing demanding games like Battlefield 4 on higher settings. I just face one of these so that more air is going through the vent that allows air to go in and the air flow increases. I've still had my computer overheat a little, but now I can play my games for longer and get off when I feel as though it would crash due to overheating. I have to charge batteries for my automatic electric airsoft guns (AEGs) and get worried once the battery starts to get hot. This is a nice trick to move the hot air away from the battery so that it does not overheat and puff out and get damaged. Not only have I used it for electronics, but I've used it for myself. A friend of mine told me to hook it up to a power bank, so I did. I have a KMASHI 10000mAh USB Power Bank. It is about the size of a Nintendo DS Lite, but a little smaller. It comfortably fits in your pocket. Not only that, it has an incredibly long battery life. So, I just plug this fan into that power bank, and I can have a portable, rechargable fan. I am in my schools's marching band's drumline. The summer heat really packs a punch when you are out on the practice field for hours on end, especially when carrying a 56 lbs Pearl Tenor Drum on your upper back and shoulders. I just use some of my stick tape to tape the fan on the drum to face me, and I put the power bank in one of my stick bags. It's super nice, and some other guys on the line get jealous. I've seen power banks go for $5 at my local "Five Below," and considering how cheap this fan is (like $8 when I purchased it), it is the perfect combo for those hot days in the sun. I could see people using this when sun-bathing, mowing the lawn, or just sitting around a hot house. It has many uses.OVERALL: I docked a star due to its durability. I would gladly spend a few extra dollars for a metal outer casing as opposed to this one's plastic casing. Every other simple feature, like the On/Off switch, the semi-long cord, and the little vibration-reducing foam things on the bottom really seal the deal for me. Other USB fans do not have those features, which is kind of ridiculous. The fan was a great buy, though, and I'm sure I'll get another one if this one breaks.

Tiny little fan, great for drying nail polish!
I do my nails a lot and my daughter is always wanting me to do hers as well. I have no problem doing that but unfortunately she has very little patience and doesn't like to sit around waiting for them to dry. So she'll usually end up messing them up. I had been looking around for a little fan but every one I would see in the store was just a bit too big for what I was looking for. I decided to try Amazon, lo and behold I come across this one.Perfect size! From the base to the top of the fan it's about 5 1/2 inches. It's all made out of plastic. The other reason I decided to order it was because it's a USB fan. A desk lamp I had recently purchased has a built-in USB port so this would work out great. It's a good little fan and helps dry her nails. Now that the weather is heating up I'm finding myself using it for a bit of a breeze while sitting at my desk. All in all I like this fan. On the bottom of the fan are 3 little foam pads, sadly though when the fan is on it has a tendency to slowly move forward. That can be a bit annoying. Other than that I'm very happy with this little fan.I am not affiliated with the seller or this product and am under no obligation to provide a positive review nor do I receive any sort of compensation one way or the other. Definitely not bad for the price
After my small desktop Honeywell fan died, I began hunting for a small desktop alternative. The idea of a smaller unit that was USB powered was my primary target, and this fan does deliver. It's very small and easy to place on the desk near the computer. I was surprised by the construction. It feels solid, blades are not plastic, no plastic screws. It has nice plastic feet attached to the base. Comes with a power cord about 3 ft long...so you HAVE to place it near a PC or USB power source. It moves a comfortable amount of air. I have it placed about 2-3 feet away from me on my desk and it provides a nice steady, comfortable breeze.Reason for 3 Stars:- The fan assembly seems unstable. Any movement of the unit causes the fan blade assembly to "wobble". It seems the actual blades are too heavy for the assembly. This has me thinking it's life span won't be long if I move it around too much. I don't know if it's worth disassembling to investigate, because when it's still it seems fine. Moving it while it's running is scary though, because the blade really wobbles and it vibrates as if to be getting resistance. Careful not to move while running.- While it's not loud by any means, the sound while running is loud enough and high-pitched to be a very mild irritant. Mostly just because it's higher pitched. Luckily I have headphones on when I'm working most of the time, so it's not too distracting.- The cord is pretty short, and while for general desktop placement it works fine...if I wanted to go from one end of my desk to the other I wouldn't be able to.I would've given it 4 stars, but the blade assembly did it in. Hopefully I'll get a decent amount of use out of it, but I fortunately won't be too upset if it dies or breaks since it was less than $10. Definitely a worthy purchase if you're looking for a compact little desktop fan that will run on USB and free up an outlet. Just be careful not to jostle it around too much.

Works great
Tldr: Quiet operation, good price, fair air flow, would recommend.I'm someone who usually always has a fan while I sleep or at my desk or in my rack at work and I like having this whenever/wherever I am. This cheapy little thing is great if you have those USB external battery packs or a laptop if you're on the go. Any access to a powered USB outlet really. If you're stuck in an office or cubicle with stale unmoving air or even a tradesmen who would like a breeze while working in a hot or cramped environment. I recommend this ASAP, it's cheap but you can accidentally drop it/knock it (moderately) it doesn't break. If it does, it's a few bucks to get a brand new one, no big deal. Simple operation ON/OFF, all plastic construction, that's about it. I'm overall pleased with this fan.Update: this is a great deal when the fan is under $7, if it's over $10 it loses it's value and you're better off getting a full size or similar sized metal fan for the same price.

Perfect for Vaping Near Computer
I was looking for a cheap solution to keep e-cigarette vapor away from my computer while working. This did the trick! While initially somewhat distracting, it took around 15 minutes for my ears to block out the sound of the fan. It sits 2 feet away and I no longer hear it. While it's an all-plastic item, I doubt it's less powerful than the metallic version at twice the price. If you have a laptop cooler fan, one handy trick is to plug the cooler into a USB to A/C converter and plug into the wall. They can be found for $5 or so. Then plug the Mini Desktop Fan into an empty port on the laptop cooler, so you're ensured full power on both devices without costing your laptop a USB port.Stay cool!

Great for the price, but wanders on its own when pointed sideways
This fan is entirely plastic - including the protective grate around the blades. It puts out a decent amount of airflow for something powered over USB. It runs very quiet with an on/off switch on the back. There's no speed control. One issue with the plastic construction comes from how light it is. Because it's so light, when you operate the fan pointed horizontally, the force of the air and the smoothness of the foam feet makes the fan start to wander around its desk, and also cause some noisy vibration. This doesn't happen if the fan is angled slightly up (so the force helps push it down enough that it doesn't move anymore).

Works with a portable USB charger!
Hooked it up to a 2500mAh portable battery AND IT WORKS. Thats right folks - no more handheld fans in the summer. I'm gonna be rocking a full fan running off rechargeable battery packs. Also thought about using these little guys to set up a intake/exhaust system using portable batteries or USB extension for the crawlspace during rainstorms to keep the moisture out. Haven't checked yet but I assume it will run off of a usb charger in the car as well for those lacking a functioning A/C unit - I bet this puppy could help a lot during traffic jams in summer heat. The body and base is made out of a lightweight plastic that leaves a little to be desired, but in all it is a very fun little product.

Cumplidor
