Oil: Landscapes with William Alexander (Learn to Paint Step by Step)

This is one of Bill's earlier books and good for introduction. Would liked to have had a bit more writtemdetail, but pictures are good and does give great ideas for coping/learning a painting. Overall - happy tohave this one in my cache of "how to's "

These were good instruction about doing paintings of landscapes. The landscapes shown were ok but not great.

This is an excellant book I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the Wet on Wet William Alexander or Bob Ross (his student)style of painting. My book arrived quickly in perfect condition as expected. I would definately buy from this Amazon seller again in the future. When I purchased this book Ididn't realize it was the same as another I'd bought but with a different cover so if your looking at this book be sure it's not the same as one you may already have. Doublecheck the book numbers as I neglected to do. Still a super book.Thanks,Mark

Not instructional as advertised

I bought this book for my stepson who is quite the painter of landscapes. He wanted it for reviewing since he had stopped painting for a while. Now that he's back in it, he wanted something to review with and remembered that someone had recommended this to him. He says it's a great book, both for those beginning, or those who just want to brush up on information.I would definitely recommend this book.

I enjoy going through this book. I am a beginning, "self taught" painter, and this book offers good advice and encouragement. It is an easy way to pick up some basic skills.

Bill Alexander art books are really hard to find at a reasonable price. I am very pleased with this purchase as the book was in very good condition and the price was very reasonable.

This is a great book. I love painting with directions from William Alexander. I also have the video andI had guests come and visit and they each painted a canvas using this book and parts of the video.A great help for painting trees. You will be able to finish a landscape easily with this book.

Livro bom, mas não têm tantas paisagens.

This is not a book. It is a large 15” x 10 paper stock magazine with only 30 pages, covering 11 paintings. There are some step by step photos but without prior knowledge of how to paint it would be difficult to understand the intent. I enjoy William Alexander very much but you are better off with YouTube videos than spending money on this. The print color quality or perhaps the original photos isn’t good and makes the art look ugly

I like almost everything about this book -- good illustrations, clearly shows techniques with the various brushes and so on. The only downside is that I thought it would have more pages (only 31). I wasn't expecting the large format of the book either, but the up-side is that the illustrations are larger and easier to see.

Not enough instruction, too big of pictures. Not enough wording. Just 6 large pictures on some pages with vague instruction. The center page is a scenic picture... boasting the artists work... not informative waste of 2 pages of instruction..More brush info and techniques, For what was in there for LEARNING... not worth the money! Just paid for some art in a book...really! Pissed!

Arrived very fast, I was happy with service. The books were great, step by step clear instructions with lots of pictures.Great for beginners. Would recommend.
