Great box for running pFsense for SMB
Edit: Warning, if you are planning on running pfsense on this box beware pfsense 2.5 will not be compatible due to the Intel processor included does not have the required AES-NI feature and Pfsense is mandating this feature starting with 2.5.----Our church had been using an Asus router running dd-wrt. While it got the job done is was always finicky. I got this box to load up pFsense and replace the aging Asus. I put a Kingston 8GB SODIMM 1.35V and a 120GB Kingston 120GB mSATA drive. The install was very easy, popped the bottom cover, put the ram and drive in it, hooked up a VGA monitor and keyboard, then booted off of the USB pFsense installer. I had the base install running in under an hour. All of the hardware was detected w/o an issue and after the install there's approx 98GB of storage remaining for what ever I want to do with it. Currently we are only using two of the four ports, but it'll be easy to setup the remaining two within the web interface if needed. Boot time from cold to passing traffic is right at 1 min, but we have a very small firewall rule set. The box also included a bracket if I wanted to wall mount the box which was a nice addition.

Nice little workhorse
This little puppy comes right up. No surprise issues. Loaded my stuff via a USB stick. Did all the right things. That's the way it should be. Fanless, doesn't even get very warm. 4 awesome built-in Eth ports. The perfect headless. Low power, zero noise device for all my software needs. Router/Switch/Firewall. Didn't have to stick any memory in it. Didn't have to worry about putting in a SSD. Although when I ordered the 64gb disk version. I have what appears to be two drives instead of one big one. I imagine there's two ssd slots in there and they used em. In any case, it's ok I guess.

Great for labs and price! - 1 star for VGA-only.
So far it works great with Ubuntu server! I also threw KDE on since I was curious if the GPU would choke and I am a heathen that likes bloated GUIs on lab servers ;) I got this for a lab as part of firewall/MAAS provisioning/private cloud experimentation. I'll revist the review and post more details when I have everything running. This is the best bang for the buck I could find. I looked at all the DIY solutions (since I am a pc DIY snob) and everything comparable was at least $100 more. I gave it 4 stars because of video input options. I couldn't find a similar 4 port version with DP/HDMI or DVI options. I threw out all my vga cables years ago :/ The best suprise about this box is it is intel NICs and not Realtek!

Excellent AstLinux Project PBX/Firewall/Router
[Update 2017-05-01]After additional testing and usage, I continue to recommend the Q190G4N-S07.I did run across an issue when running commands that used the libpcap library such as darkstat, sngrep, ngrep, etc. . The solution was to disable "gro" (generic-receive-offload) on any interface that libpcap could listen on. Example, "ethtool -K eth0 gro off"This change increases the iperf test load from 40% of one core (below) to 75% of one core, but still will route at near 1 Gb line speed.=========================Using the Q190G4N-S07, I added 2 GB RAM and a 16 GB mSATA SSD to create a PBX/Firewall/Router appliance using the AstLinux Project. The 4 core, 2.0 GHz Intel J1900 offers a lot of performance with a first-class case and great heat transfer to provide fanless cooling.I placed my order on a Friday, it shipped (to central USA) on the following Monday and I signed for the package Wednesday noon. (Shipped via DHL which required a signature on delivery.)This Qotom does not require any tedious assembly, simply add 4 rubber feet (included), RAM and mSATA SSD (not included) by removing 4 screws.A standard iperf test (client-iperf -> LAN-qotom-WAN -> server-iperf), the Q190G4N-S07 will route at Gb line speed (912 Mbps) at overall 90% idle (utilizing 40% of one core). The CPU runs cool at 38-40 deg.C idle. No included WiFi connectors or module which I do not need or want.Minor quibble, I would have preferred a serial console instead of the VGA console, and there is no piezo buzzer for startup/shutdown alerts.Excellent value, excellent performer. Recommended.

good pfsense box
Great little f/w box. It uses a laptop style brick to supply the 12Vdc power. The NIC's report as iga n under pfsense, and port 0 is on the right as you look at them. Beware that there NO instructions. Just a box, PS, and VESA plate. Takes a single 1.35V SO-DIMM and a mSATA card. You'll need a vga terminal and USB kbd to do the install and initial config. After that, it can be headless and you can manage pfsense using ssh or the web interface. Gets warm(ish). In a hot env. you might want to force some air across the fins.

Solid Piece of Equipment
Purchased this to turn into a router/fw/IDS runing ubuntu Linux. The BIOS/UEFI is AMI, had to make a couple of changes ( change OS in the bios to 'windows 8' so I could get the grub reboot to work, and go to the adv. section to turn on restart on power restore, docs were limited, but the tip on 'power on restarts' was on QOTOM's website). Other than that, this little device exceeds my expectations. Very sturdy chassis, which serves as a heat-sink, INTEL gig ethernet.

Wonderful…!
I've just buy it to replace an aging Core 2 Duo computer, running pfsense; but chose to install opnsense instead. It is well built, feels substantial because of the case that doubles as heat sink. On the operation side, the load is a little higher than I expected (between 20% and 30%), but it runs rather cool and with no noise at all. Nice piece of hardware.

Works great as a firewall
Runs Sophos XG and PFsense without any issues. Stays cool even at 100% utilization.
