Overbuilt and under-priced!
Five stars isn't enough for this product. For whatever reason, it is difficult to find photography gear that's anywhere between "Chinese sweatshop quality" and "costs more than your camera did." These cases give you the best of both worlds: professional quality at sweatshop prices. I somehow doubt their marketing department will quote me on that. For starters, this isn't a lens sock. This is a rugged, standalone, kick-it-down-the-stairs kind of case. They're padded on all sides with closed-cell foam padding, and if you have a mirrorless camera like I do, there's a second sleeve of padding that is inside to keep your lens from rolling around. I would, without question, feel comfortable throwing my lenses in the bottom of a backpack full of loose laptops and power bricks. Airline baggage handlers probably see these in their nightmares.I love that these are zippered (and padded!) tops, not that drawstring nonsense. I love that the zipper isn't right up at the top edge, so that the lens is still protected if you drop it on that edge, and you don't end up breaking both your lens and the zipper. I love that there are both horizontal and vertical attachment loops(belt loops, or whatever they're called, AND that they're both velcro-secured, so you don't have to take your dumb belt off to get the case on and off of it. AND, I love that there are two little loops at the top, so that you can attach a neck/shoulder strap--or use an old camera strap to sling it across your body.Fit: I bought both the small (ACLC8) and the medium (ACLC10). The small will fit the 16-50mm kit lens that came with my Sony a6000, and it can fit it in there with 16mm worth of macro extension rings installed. The medium is a perfect fit for the 55-210mm kit lens. In both cases, the lenses have the front and rear lens caps on them, and both are a snug fit with the inner sleeve of padding installed in the case. The lenses don't fall out if the case is turned upside down, but they come out easily if you grab them. Perfect! The fit is equally as good on the two Olympus kit lenses that I have.Either the small or the medium case will fit 96% of the lenses out there. If you have only one lens and you're not sure which to buy, buy them both. Figure out which one fits, and then use the other one as a field pouch, to corral up all the loose cords, batteries, and other items that are bouncing around in your camera bag. Honestly, unless you have a telephoto lens, the small size will probably fit fine.

My New Favorite Lens Case
This Ape Case is well built, light, and has all the features you want in a lens case. An inner padded yellow insert can be removed or left inside to more accurately match the diameter of whatever lens you are using (I'm using mine with the Fujinon XF 55-200mm f:3.5-4.8 R LM OIS Zoom Lens , which fits perfectly when the inner sleeve is removed from the Ape Case.) There is padding in the case even when the inner sleeve is removed. A double set of Velcro belt fasteners (one horizontal, one vertical) gives you ultimate flexibility in mounting case on a belt or, perhaps, on a larger equipment bag. The zipper operates smoothly, and doesn't seem that there will be any problems with its operation over time. It's actually pretty good looking, too.The case comes in a variety of heights, so you have to check the dimensions of your lens to order the specific case that is best suited for it. Also, note that Ape Case also sells another case which looks very similar on Amazon, but does not have the removable padded insert. Depending on your preference, one or the other design may be best. I prefer the removable padded insert because I can then use the same case for a variety of different lenses. These cases are not cheap, but they aren't outrageous, either, and the quality and the design are very good for the price range, so I rate these as a five star recommendation.

nice case, wish it was slightly wider
This review is for the medium "Professional" Ape Case. It's a very nice case, especially given the price. It has what feels like a layer of neoprene on all sides, sandwiched between a tough nylon-type cloth on the outside and a soft yellow interior. The flap closes with dual zippers and it has a buckle for extra security. My case differs from the one pictured in that the D ring attachments for the included strap are not sewn completely down the sides of the case. Instead they're attached in the way that's pictured for the small case. Still, the attachments seem strong. The reason for 4 stars is because this case is a little small for me. I'm using it for a Nikon Z 70-200mm lens. The length of the case is perfect. But I wish the interior diameter was slightly larger. If the HB-92 lens hood is mounted backward on the lens the entire thing barely fits inside the case. It's such a tight squeeze it's hard to get the lens back out. This isn't the case's fault, of course. But if it was slightly larger it would be great. Again, I'm talking about this specific lens. If anyone is wondering, the HB-92 hood is about 110mm in diameter (according to my ruler) and the snug fit of the 70-200mm Z lens without the hood (89mm) isn't helped by the fact that the tripod mount on this lens isn't completely removable. I'm not planning to use the case for anything but storage, so it's fine. I'll just need to keep the hood somewhere else.

Quality lens case
It seems to be a very good quality lens case and it looks like it will provide a high level of protection for the contents. I generally try to avoid dropping and bumping equipment (and certainly won't do so deliberately 'just as a test'), so I can't say how effective it is yet, but the appearance gives me confidence. The inside is nice and soft without being prone to lint, the zip's of a good standard and it's got plenty of straps and loops on the outside. The removable insert allows it to be used for a range of things. I'd buy again and I'd recommend.

Nice
Bien acolchado y como referencia de tamaño, le cabe a la perfección el kit lens 28-70mm de la Sony a73.

Exactly right for Sony 55-210mm lens
This is perfect for a Sony mirrorless 55-210 lens. Spot on.

Excelentes materiales

Nice Case but bigger than you think!
This is a nice case but it’s bigger than expected. I got it for my AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit lens, but it’s WAY too big for that. I’ve added some bubble wrap for padding in the bottom and a small bubble wrap sleeve and it works. I’d have exchanged it for a different version, but I was pressed for time. But it does the job with the bubble wrap workaround. It feels safe and secure.
