Very inexpensive and easy to install. Give a good sense of protection, and can be installed by virtually anyone. It is virtually unnoticeable and doesn't distract from views. The only concern is that the screw may put a small indentation in plastic window frames. I have already bought more.

We have low windows in our attic, which is the kids' playroom. It is the 3rd level of a big old farmhouse, so falling out of the window would be a problem. Of course, because of their curious nature, kids are going to try and open a window if they can reach it. These locks were a must for me. I haven't had any issues with them coming loose or not working, but none of my kids has ever given it much effort once they realized the windows were "stuck". I hung the key in a visible location, out of reach, so that an adult can easily get to it if there were to be a fire. I installed the locks in about 10 seconds without reading instructions; it's pretty simple.

A great way to add a little security to any sliding window. Make sure you have enough track sticking up for these to get a grip onto. Also make sure that you don't put these on any windows that you may need to escape a fire out of as part of the reason they are secure is that they need an allen wrench ( a semi uncommon tool to have in your pocket) to put them on or take them off. I use these to secure a window that we leave open in the summer to allow for an air conditioner unit, and also a bathroom window that we leave open for ventilation.

Easy to install & tighten. Secure enough to keep thieves out. I keep the allen wrench in the lock so I don't lose it. It would be impossible to open from the outside if someone could reach into the window. I feel secure at night leaving my windows open. I highly recommendt them. They look better than the dowel rods I used before. I can change how open the window is which I can't do with a dowel rod.

Our 13 year old grandson likes to sneak out at night. These locks on our windows kept him in the house at night, despite his best attempts (with screwdrivers and table knives) to break out. The lock's body and our window frame were pretty well scratched up, but the locks held. VERY inexpensive fix for sliding windows and holds securely, tamper proof. I like to leave a window open on summer evenings and was concerned that someone could slide it fully open and access our home while we were sleeping. This was by far the best arrangement, the tool locks the device in place very securely and is tamper proof. Best of all, two to a package so I can secure two windows open 3 inches each for additional airflow.

They fit in my window and they were easy to install. No problems for me.
