Finally-a communicative way to learn colloquial Arabic on the advanced level! Many people have complained that the instructions are not in English. However, I think that's what makes this series stand out when compared with others that have every instruction written in English. However, I would have given it five stars if there were an answer key to the exercises at the back of the book.The only thing that keeps this book from being purely self-study is that you need to work with a partner to answer many of the communicative speaking exercises.

Needless to say, I purchased the entire series of this, used a dictionary as much as I can and also a tutor. Could have done without the tutor but it would be more time consuming for me to reach my goal. This book and the higher advanced course make book 1 and 2 seem so easy. Watching shows with subtitles also help a lot in the learning process.

This is the 4th of the five books for Egyptian Arabic. I can highly recommend this if you speak MSA and want to learn the most widely spoken colloquial, but the book isn't intended for self-study, so you will have to fill in the gaps at times, but that it part of the fun of going abroad. You can't expect to understand everything right away. There aren't many books with advanced Egyptian colloquial anyway, so I recommend the book for that reason alone, but on top of it, it's fun to read and the CD is very entertaining.

Hands down, this has to be the best Arabic book I've come across. I wish there was something similar to this for Modern Standard Arabic. You may need a teacher to go through this book with because it's completely in Arabic except for the small glossary in the back of the book. Also useful (if you have an Android phone) is the Egyptian Arabic dictionary app. If you're studying Egyptian Arabic, this is THE book (series) to have.

Excellent and well presented for learning Arabic as a foreign language!A very systematic book for Arabic learners from starters to advanced and i am quite happy to have bought it.My final review will be after I studied it in depth, in a years time

If you want to learn Egyptian Arabic this is one of the best ways to go about it.However, the book is meant to be used in a classroom environment. If you're using it for self-study it can be for difficult since there are no English Translations.

Very useful

This course is definitely not self-study format. It states in the introductory pages that this course is for use in a classroom. Very dissapointed with the purchase.
