Scores Cat6A jacket perfectly
After just a minute of adjusting I was able to score the outer jacket perfectly without cutting the inside foil. This will make future projects faster and easier to complete.

Easiest tool to use!
At work, we have many different tools at our disposal. I bought this for creating custom length CAT6 cables. We have several tools to cut the outer insulation, but this tool is faster and cleaner than all the other options. It’s simple but very effective!! It’s definitely worth the cost!

Does not cut well.
For cutting CAT5e it takes more effort than it's worth to get it to cut. It CAN cut it but it takes several attempts and sometimes doesn't work even then. Better off just using my crimpers than this unfortunately.

Worth every penny.
Had one for something like 15 years before it broke at the hinge point. Ordered another one asap. Does exactly what it's supposed to and does it flawlessly. With every penny.

This is my second CAT5/6 stripping tool, I like it!
I have been using dedicated stripping tools for CAT5/CAT6 wiring for years, and there is no better way to do it! If you are not using a single purpose tool, you are probably waisting time. The other tool that I have is the UTP/stp Cable Stripper I like this tool very much, the price is right and when I tested it with a bunch of stripping it never nicked the wires within the cable at all! Very clean strip! I can't say the same for my old one which is linked above ... The Ideal was good, but it was easier to nick the pairs inside of the cable and it costs more than this one does! This tool is the clear winner.This is a good value, ... If you work with CAT5 or CAT6 cabeling and you don't have a tool like this just add it to your cart now, ... You will not regret it!

Very impressed with this little tool. I use it all day long on Cat 5. I have found you just need to make one full turn to get the jacket off. More than that and it might knick wires. Doing just one turn, I have yet to knick a single wire, and because the tool is new to me I have been closely checking my cables after each cut. Not a single issue.Out of curiosity, I did try this tool on a very thick Belden 10-conductor cable, and it didn't work. Too thick and the jacket on that stuff is really hard. FWIW.

Making Connections EZ! ...and worth every cent!
Sure, I was a little dubious - I'll be honest, but considering lately I've been fixing a lot of CAT6 cables with different jackets, I was getting tired of struggling to strip the cables. Maybe others have great ways of doing it using their tools but for me it has always been a pain. So, I bought this on a whim just to see... and god this is fantastic! I just tested it and am buying a couple more just to have them on hand! Followed the directions and it has worked perfectly every time ... my time making these cables has dramatically decreased. Platinum Tools promotes itself as: "We make Connections EZ!" They are true to their word!

Perfect for cat5e cable
Great product .. tried using an adjustable multi thickness tool I bought for RG6 cables and it was cutting slightly too deep .. this was perfect .. fast and cuts the correct depth all the time

Oh So Easy
After fiddling with box cutters and knives, I was getting rather fed up nicking the wires in CAT6 cable. I then discovered the CAT5 CAT6 jacket cutter from Platinum Tools and it changed my views on wiring this type of cable. Just clip on the cutter, turn it clockwise a couple of times, snap off the jacket and hey presto a perfect cut and, more importantly, no nicked wires! Highly recommended for those wanting to wire up CAT5 CAT6 cables to RJ45 plugs and jacks.
