No wonder this bug zapper has a high rating - it just plain works! The construction is strong, the performance is awesome, and the price is reasonable. It began zapping mosquitos, flies, and gnats immediately after being plugged in. The 40 Wt bulb is bright, but not excessively so. Neighbors should not find it objectionable. We didn't install the bug attractant, choosing to see how well it worked just with the blacklight. A couple of minutes after plugging the unit in we were zapping 1-3 bugs per second. So it works, and has continued to work nightly for the two months since we purchased it. We find it superior in construction to what we saw at HD. Hopefully it will last for more than one season.

I live on a lake in Florida and the mosquitoes and yellow flies are so bad in the late spring and summer that it's almost impossible to get any yard work done without getting attacked. I am very satisfied with the Flowtron's ability to kill insects but not sure yet on just how effective it is in attracting and killing biting flies. I've only had it for less than one week and so far, it has done a great job killing moths and small beetles. I did attach the octenol attractant to the bottom on the unit that came with the purchase. The attached picture shows just one night of bug killing. There are some dead insects on the ground but as you can see most are stuck on the 'non-clogging' killing grid. I'm not going to downgrade this 5-star review because that was not a selling point for me. You will need to clean the unit. Besides I want to easily see what it's killed and I can clean it with my powerful leaf blower in under 30 seconds. One concern that I have that is yet to be determined is what will happen if the unit is left on during a rain event. We get a lot of rain in Florida in the summer (even nocternal storms). As we all know, water and electricity don't mix and I hope it wouldn't short out. I will also add that the 'zapping' sound of insects getting fried is actually music to my ears! I don't mind it at all. I would highly recommend this product.

Seems to zap bugs just fine. Its cord is short and comes out the top which pulls it down on one side when its hanging so it hangs a bit crooked. Also wish it had a switch so I could turn it off when it rains. Though I could unplug it and leave the plug inside the outlet cover if the cover still closes securely. As I said it works. It's been zapping away all night. It's made in America so I'll be keeping it.

This is a great bug zapper. I use it inside my finished Morton building. At this time time I purchased this unit, I also purchased a smaller, less expensive unit for another area in the building. It only lasted 8 months and then stopped working. I am ordering this unit as its replacement. Spend a little more money for a very high quality bug zapper!

Works great, wish I had more. It gets all bugs nearby with no noise. A very good product!

Great at attracting pesky insects. We’ve noticed a significant decrease in insects in our patio since we’ve begin using this. Lightweight. Plug and go.

Great for mosquitoes. Doesn’t really work for flies but any insect during night time. After just one night I got like half a pound dead mosquitoes.
