Install ok but worth it
I ordered this for my 04 Silverado 1500. Ever since I bought the truck I hated the way the 1-2 shift was. Turned out to be extremely common, well I didn’t like it and started doing research and ended up finding this servo. For how cheap it is, can’t even begin to explain how much nicer it is to have that 1-2 shift with no delay now. Well worth the money and it firmed up the next shift or two as well. Far as installation goes mine was a bit more difficult as my 4l60e sits awfully close to the passenger side of the body. I ended up having to removed the trans mount, lower the trans and t case down a bit and having a buddy push everything towards the drivers side to get the rest of the piece out and back into the trans. Looking at reviews I thought it’d be easier but still took awhile. Now knowing how to do it I could probably do it in around an hour or so. YouTube video helped out a lot so if you’re a first timer when it comes to working on your own truck I recommend watching it so you don’t mess anything big up on your truck. 5 stars for now but excited to see how well it shifts after I put a lot more miles on it. Hope it lasts.

A must have for 99-02 Silverado, just buy it!
I recently had my truck tuned after a cam swap. It’s a 2001 Silverado 5.3. The transmission (4l60E) felt lazy or slower shifts with the extra power. I called my tuner and he recommended this servo upgrade. It was straightforward and easy. I did have to pull my trans crossmember down on one side and lower the transmission to get it to come all the way out. The first drive was great! It shifts short and crisp. The 1-2 shift is 30% firmer and the 2-3 is about the same. The best $20 I’ve spent all year!Next up is the .490 Sonnex boost valve when I change the transmission filter and fluid next.

Almost bought a rebuilt transmission.
Bought a escalade with 250,000 miles. Low price because of slippage and overheating transmission. Thinking I'm still going to be under budget. But then after doing research, it kept comming back to the servo with slight wear. Couldn't believe with loose seal on servo compared to the $20 corvette servo that went in no problem, I had a escalade that felt like new. Slippage gone, overheating trans. Gone! Every one who owns a gm should be told about this. Or atleast gm should recall and fix this simple and important part to help their trucks live longer

I highly recommend doing this, niggt and day, really
This is the BEST money I have ever spent on a vehicle. Shift improvement is beyong expectations. Installation in 1999 to 2007 classic GM trucks is more work cause you have to disassemble it up in the small space between the transmission and the tunnel. It comes out in pieces rather than the whole unit like it shows on youtube. I was worried for a bit, not ever doing it. Jacking the truck up a little on the passenger side will keep tranny fluid from dripping on your head and down your arm into your armpit. C-clip reinstall was the hardest, pull the shaft out so the spring and retaining washer is loose when snaping it in the groove. You can do it. I liked the improvement so much i told a friend, and he also did his in my driveway. He has zero knowledge or a tool for a truck and he did it.

Product looked to be of good quality and well made
Product looked to be of good quality and well made. Worked as designed. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was that I found a lot of dings on hard parts and nicks on seals, more than I would have expected on parts that need to seal properly. That's just the perfectionist in me otherwise very good overall.

Best bang for buck
2006 rcsb Silverado z71 80k miles. Firms up the slop shift at low speeds that was driving me crazy. Not too extreme, but definitely noticeable. Install took about 1.5 hours but I took my time, could do the next one a lot faster. There are good videos online for this, but some tips I would give.1. Use a short breaker bar with a cheater pipe when pressing the servo (not for leverage) but it allows you to adjust length and tuck into your armpit to keep both hands free.2. My pin was really tight in the original setup. Spray the pin with some brake-clean to “freeze” it on uninstall and prior to installing new servo. Saw videos where people used a hammer, but wanted to avoid that.3. I needed to use a clamp to get the diaphragm shaped piece snap ring off. Seen folks do it with their hand but I wasn’t strong enough

Quick,Cheap fix for slip into 2nd
The whole reason why I bought this servo was because my 1998 GMC K1500 was starting to have a delay in shift going into 2nd gear. It was like 2nd gear was 2 gears, it would shift into 2nd then immediately after there would be another shift. No...it wasn't shifting into 3rd. Still in 2nd gear, so I talked with an older gentleman who repaired and worked on transmissions for 25 years +. He told me that I'm losing 2nd gear, and that I need to somehow make my transmission shift more firm into 2nd gear. It's a patch job, but if it holds up until I can get the money to rebuild mine.... then great. I installed this in my truck and the 2nd gear delay was fixed. It no longer was delayed. It shifted firm into 2nd and it was a complete 2nd shift. Very happy with this product. It's an easy install, if you take your time. It took me about hour in a half from start to finish. One problem I ran into was the 2 10mm bolts for the heat shield, the bolt that's farther back, closer to the exhaust...I couldn't get that off, so i took the one that was closer to the servo cover off and pushed my heat shield up to access the servo.
