This is vastly superior to the original part for at least 4 reasons.First, the screw that secures the handle threads into metal instead of plastic. There is virtually no chance of getting it cross-threaded or stripping the threads.Second, that handle screw only needs to be about an inch long instead of 3+ inches, resulting in less wobble.Third, this piece fits much more snugly onto the cartridge than the original plastic part does. The result is a much tighter and more secure feel when you turn the handle.This last point won't apply to everyone, but if you converted to a universal type handle like I did, this is a big one. The metal adapter that the handle presses onto is attached to the extender with 3 small set screws. In order to get the adapter secure enough, you have to tighten the set screws so much that the plastic extender deforms, making it hard to pass that 3 1/2" screw through it. With this part, those set screws are gripping onto metal, not plastic, so they hold much more securely with no danger of deformation.You will probably need to get new (shorter) screws for attaching the handle to the extender. The threads are 10-24, and I needed 1" screws. They cost 11 cents each. Big woop.If you have old Delta faucets that use these extenders, buy a set of 3 and swap them out when you get a chance. I predict that you'll notice the difference and that you'll never have to replace them again.

A little tight, but that’s a good thing.

I was looking for a stem that could hold on to an old heavy shower knob. This does a great job. You get to tighten screw and not worry about screw piercing through plastic.

We had a set that were the original plastic and they had been fixed numerous times only to have them break again. These made the faucet handles feel so much nicer and sturdy. 100% would purchase again. Quality product.

This is a hard to find part. There are many similar parts out there, but they do not fit. Much like the other reviewer, I had a hard time finding the correct part and for a decent price.I only needed one, but ordered two, just to have a spare, since I had a hard time finding them. I originally ordered these through another online retailer (Appliance Parts Pros) and after they kept getting backordered (for about a month), I started looking elsewhere and ran across them on here (and they were a little cheaper too). So after I got confirmation that they shipped, I cancelled my other order at APP. I think it took 10 days from the time I ordered, to the time I received them....which I had no issue with.I got this installed and it works great.

The Delta stem extender descriptions could be more explicit with the lengths and descriptions or diagrams. This worked perfectly after one of the handles of our old Delta shower faucet broke off. This aftermarket part with the brass handle attachment is also substantially stronger than the previous Delta all plastic one.

Was a perfect replacement for an old delta shower extension.

The Premier brass extension is a perfect replacement for the plastic Delta brand faucet extension. The Premier extension is a good solid fit with your existing or new faucet cartridge. If you're updating your Delta shower knobs that are held with a long screw through the extension with a lever style handle and set screw, the Premier brass extension is the only way to go. You'll find the lever handle set screw doesn't set to well using the Delta plastic extension. The Premier brass extension works.
