If you compare the original Bosch alternators on Mercedes vehicles, they look NOTHING like this alternator. This alternator is missing a plug port (single pin, 2 prong) for the VOLTAGE REGULATOR. If you leave this unplugged, your Mercedes will run off the battery alone, the battery will not charge, and you will have major issues. What is ridiculously left off the description and never mentioned anywhere, not just here, but ANYWHERE this alternator is sold (Advance auto/carquest, Oreilly's, Napa, etc.), leaving it up to the individual to figure out on their own, is that the gd 2nd empty "D+" post is where that connection goes, but it's literally a post with a nut on it.NOWHERE does it say "cut off the original voltage regulator connector on your Mercedes, strip the wire, connect an eye-hook and crimp it, and connect it to the D+ post and tighten it down with the included 8mm nut".Had that been in the description, I would have felt 100% better about this purchase. This crucial information missing lands a Fail/F-/1star review for this alternator. It did work after my buyer, his father who is a 50+ experience diesel mechanic, and myself finally figured out how to install it and get it working right. Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. 1 extra sentence or 2 in the description would have saved us at least 2hrs minimum.

You will need this at some time in the future.
Bought as a stand by for my Benz. Past experience with cars that have heavy drain electronics kill batteries and alternators often. Mine has killed the battery already, so I am ready for the alternator to go.
