Nice light modifier for travel headshots
This little modifier is incredibly travel-friendly, weighing almost nothing and collapsing down to around the size of a CD. The silver lining in the interior makes it quite efficient in terms of light output, which is helpful when you want to couple it to a small flash. The size of the modifier means that it's best used in close (and off-camera) for headshots, and when used as such it creates interesting doughnut-shaped catchlights in the subject's eyes. It's also pretty cheap, but this is reflected in the build quality - a piece of elastic that's intended to hold the internals in place after opening it detached at one end after only a few uses, and the stitching holding the main metal shaft in place came apart after I had a flash take a tumble onto sand from a height of ~2m. Both were easily repaired but I can't help but wonder how long they'll last. This product is a reproduction of the Roundflash beauty dish, which costs around twice the price - perhaps the Roundflash has a better build quality, but I haven't seen it to check.

The compact light modifier I've been waiting for!
This light modifier is an absolute doddle to unfold and mount onto a speedlight. It has a small aluminium rod inside which keeps it pointing straight ahead without drooping, and the relatively large expanded size (45 cm diameter) means that it should provide a lovely soft light source. I bought this mainly for on-location lighting when I need to travel light, and also need the light modifier to not act as a sail to catch the wind and topple the light stand (eg, my umbrella softboxes and shoot through umbrellas).Lastly, there are a number of different brands of this type of light modifier: I suspect they're all the same. One of the reviews of the other brand suggests that it flops over and so is unusable. I can't see how it can - it has a rigid outer ring to keep it taut when open and the aluminium rod will keep it pointing forward - and this one definitely does not flopI've used a lot of light modifiers for speedlights over the years but most of them have disappointed for various reasons and so have been underused. Some are a little fiddly to assemble, some are a hassle to fit onto the flash, and some just droop and so become usable with severe restrictions. This one fits the bill for what I needed - so much so I bought two!

decent
works well.. bit of a fiddle to fit to flash gun..produces a nice light though. Good and portable.

Decent beauty dish, good value at the price point.
Works well as a beauty dish. Nice soft light. It’s a copy of the more expensive RoundFlash version. It will work exactly the same and just as well but the materials and construction are less robust so more care will be needed in use.

Broke after using it twice
This produces a nice light and great for outdoor portraits but broke after only 2 uses. The part that you pull to open the softbox pulled through the white material, clearly its not made strong enough.i would order another one if i wasn't so worried about it happening again as if it happens then the product is no longer useable.

Amazing soft spotlight
Just what I wanted. Photographing the events means a constant re-adjustment to specific situations. I’ve used this attachment with my speedlite taken off the camera and held in the other hand. It can be either triggered by the transmitter or connected by a cable, and gives a full freedom of angling the light beam. The item is well made and lightweight, and super compact when folded in a pouch.

Best compact modifier you will own!
An amazing alternative to umbrella softboxes. This actually distributes light very well. I’m mainly using it for portraits. But it can be used for half body portraits also. Quite large when opened, it collapses into a small but portable pouch when needed.
