Easy to hook up an easy to work. Worth the mony

Its pretty nice. Theres lots of things it can do, but I probably wont remember how to do them when I need to use the radio. This really does have a good easy to use Menu. And I really really really apprecieate the bright green light that lights when someone is talking, that way if the volume is low you can still tell that someone is talking. Hooking this up to a Chart Plotter / GPS / fish finder is very confusing. The instructions are a little lacking. The instructions stop at the chart plotter, the you have to use the chart plotter instructions for the other side. In my case the instructions didnt mesh well (humminbird, and humminbird was very little help). But I did get it hooked up and it does work well.What I dont like is the power button. I would rather it turn on with the volume knob instead of a button

Nice vhf radio with GPS. No need to connect to a external GPS. You do need register the radio with MMSI to get it work a $25 dollars fee but if your a Boat US member it’s free. The radio it self is easy to use I’m still learning all the features. It you are replacing and old Standard Horizon that was flush mounted in your dash the old mounting brackets will work on this radio.

Purchased this to replace my simrad unit that stopped working. Couldn’t receive signal. This unit fit the same cut out. I didn’t purchase the flush mount kit just made my own with some scrap aluminum to mount flush in my electronic box. This unit is nicer than my old simrad. Sound quality through mic was fine.

I received a new in the original manufacturer box a Standard Horizon GX1400GPS Marine VHF radio from "ISAVE" via "AMAZON".Radio does NOT turn on ! Contacted Standard Horizon and was promptly informed that the this model is no longer in production and not available for warranty/replacement.Being sold on AMAZON as a new item with 3 year warranty.WARRANTY BY WHO ? ? ?I SUGGEST SEARCHING FOR A REPUTABLE SELLER FOR ITEMS SUCH AS THIS !* UPDATE *Item was promptly replaced !I am satisfied with the results

Very disappointed with this "Like New" product. Previous owner had removed the Power Connector (Cut the wires) - see photo). Also, the previous owner entered their MMSI into the radio before returning it. Not an easy thing to undo. Had to contact Standards Horizon Tech Support, send them an email with my info and Radio info, they will send me a "reset Code" within 2 - 3 days. Only then can I reset the MMSI and enter my MMSI # into the radio.I've had great "like new" purchases in the past. This one was awful!

My boyfriend fell in love with this radio at West Marine and just had to have it. I convinced him to wait a couple of days before dropping that type of money as there really was nothing wrong with our old radio except it was old. On a whim, I checked Amazon and what do you know? Saved almost $200 on the same radio!!

Good reliable radio. Very easy to install and program.
