How do I get instructions to set the combo lock; or if someone knows, please share? There are none in the package.

I contacted the seller directly for instructions- directions will be sent via email. I believe I did the following: on the inside of box behind combo lock, place bar in A position. Select a 3 digit code, implement it, then turn bar to B position. Repeat this with same code 2 more times and it should work. If not, contact seller through Amazon. Good luck!

Since the top opens, what will stop someone from opening it and taking the mail out?

It does the job for standard mail but if someone really wanted to get in they probably could with a flat head and a hammer.
