Great primer on how AI will impact HR
Having spent over a decade working in HR, and now working on the software side of it, I was excited to see this book come out. I've read previous pieces put out by Ben in other areas, and he's always done a great job of analysis and summarizing of key points. So my hope was that this would be a solid overview of the available AI tech, whatever that might be.Ben goes beyond this, though, and dives into the different definitions of AI, how they are currently being leveraged, and areas in HR that are set up for massive change as these tools become more prevalent. He also introduces companies that are coming to market with these tools ready to deploy, and how they can pay for themselves in retention, reduced error rates and transactional efficiency. By presenting break down of different areas of HR and how they can each be impacted, the reader is allowed to focus on the core areas that matter most to them. Once you understand how your world will change, you can expand out to see how those same changes may manifest in other areas of HR as well. This not only presents the reader with a great overview of a complex topic, it may also enhance their understanding of the larger potential impacts of technology in their business.AI is a fascinating topic, though it is easy to get bogged down in the technical details of what is or isn't AI. This book avoids that trap, disposing of the argument early, and gets to the business of how the future will be shaped. It is a great resource for someone looking to understand this at a high level or a deep dive. I'm glad to have added to my bookshelf!

Intelligence gained from AI in HR
The author, Eubanks, does a remarkable job summarizing timely information of how AI technology is shaping (or has the potential to shape) human resources. I found the case studies and research to be informative and well placed, while not being too exhaustive. Enough description and context was provided early on in the book to increase business acumen around artificial intelligence before diving into application of the technology. With the low unemployment market in today's environment, I appreciated the thought around talent acquisition and sourcing applications. I personally plan to take the conversation around "talent rediscovery" and off-hours candidate interaction to the next level within my own organization. In relation, the utilization for more positive employee experience culture shaping and service delivery was intriguing. With the focus of taking HR to a more strategic level in the business, the case for AI to solve more of the administration is compelling. Eubanks brings in a variety of timely and relevant topics that made an interesting read for HR professionals!

Wanna know where we're headed? Read this.
Right now, AI for HR is like a mediocre stew - lots of different things smooshed together that might all work, but the seasoning hasn't quite connected it all together yet. There are things for recruiting, talent management, identifying risky employees, identifying diversity issues, identifying problematic pay issues. Ben has taken this morass and made it easier to understand about where HR is in adopting these technologies and where we might go in the future. There are hundreds of examples of uses that the book describes in detail - enough to excite any HR pro and cause some tummy rumblings for leery employment attorneys. If you want a good idea of what's coming, read this book.

A Practical Guide to AI in HR today
In some fashion, AI is used in almost everything today. But, we rarely spend time considering exactly why AI is beneficial; we just assume it is because it's the latest technology. Ben's book looks at specific ways HR professionals can use AI to do their jobs efficiently and to make employee experiences better. From training and mentoring to administering benefits, HR professionals will find AI helpful as long as they comprehend its role and capabilities. Through the research and real-life examples included in his book, Ben stresses that readers understand how AI is a time saver so that HR professionals can spend more time on tasks that are best done by humans.
