The 3 16gb Ironwolf Drives arrived well packed and looked brand new, no problems with them, they are fairly loud in operation but I have my NAS right behind my sofa, will probably relocate it somewhere else at some point.

After reading some other reviews I was wary of this as it's a great price. Immediate red flag was this was the first drive I've had come in non-Seagate packaging (just a brown box with some padding). No warranty card or info. Checking SN on website shows no active warranty; this was a bulk purchase direct from a reseller that has then been resold by this Amazon seller after use.After loading up the drive I can see the SMART statistics have been fully scrubbed, while the FARM data (Seagate proprietary) show 12130 hours. Such a waste of time as I now have to send it back and order another from an actual reputable reseller. Joke Amazon as usual.

Great these. You can files to them and everything. They are at home with others in their cozy encasement. The only ones failing now are my 3TB ones that have been spinning for years. #recommended

Delivery was quick and packaged reasonably well but not much protection so if the delivery guy was happy Chucky then I think it may fail pretty soon.Great drive overall which I have fitted to my synology ds224+.Transfer speeds are great and no issues at all so far.The only downside is the noise.I have the server in a cupboard in the living room by the main router, and I have noticed the drive is very loud. when reading and writing the noise is so loud it sounds like it’s pouring with rain outside and it’s bouncing off the roof.Compared to my 6tb wd reds I have in my old hp nl54 this is really noisy but price per tb is the clear winner.

I purchased a Seagate HDD from this seller expecting a brand new drive, but after running diagnostics using smartmontools, it’s clear this is not a new drive at all.The SMART report revealed:• Power-On Hours: 28,000+ hours• Start/Stop Count: Extremely high (indicating long-term use)• Reallocated Sector Count & UDMA CRC Errors: Present – early signs of potential failure• Firmware & Serial Info: Shows signs of tampering – possibly from a data center or crypto farmThe drive clearly came from a heavily used environment, likely repurposed from a server or mining/farming setup, and someone attempted to reset or manipulate the SMART data to hide its real condition. Fortunately, not all SMART attributes can be reset easily, and this is how I uncovered the deception.This is a huge red flag. Selling a drive with over 3 years of usage (24/7) and marketing it as brand new is outright dishonest and dangerous for buyers relying on these drives for storage integrity.If you’re considering this seller, double-check your drive with smartmontools right after receiving it. Drive is high capacity and great value for money. Slight hiccup on delivery as customs duty had to be paid by the seller prior to collection from Royal Mail. Extremely well packaged so as to prevent any damage. Now have two of these so I can backup my MacBook Pro to one and then duplicate the backup to the second 14Tb drive effectively giving me RAID backup should one drive fail.

16TB drive arrived quickly just 12 hours after ordering. The drive was packaged really well in a box with polystyrene cut to fit the drive and well protected. After fitting the drive it is on the main was quite quiet and i needed to tranfer 12TB of inofrmation accross to the new drive and spent a few hours doing this. I would definately recommend the drive and the seller. Also the drive itself was in a sealed bag made to fit the drive size so was definately new and unused. Great product for the price.

The drives I got all worked and were all new, but 5 of them were registered in asia, so instead of the 5 year warranty, they only got about 2, neither seagate support, nor amazon support could fix it on their end, so now im going to have to return them and hope I dont get any of the dodgey drives that are floating about, or that they once again are from the wrong region, and I get the feeling this could be like a game of whack a mole, where I have to keep returning until I get both a new fully working drive and one with the correct warranty (the dodgey drive part is based on the reviews from this pages reviews for this drive)If the replacement drives are all new and have the correct warranties, ill change this to a 4 star, if I get a bad batch the next time, ill probably lower it to one, more so if its with multiple drives.[EDIT]I got a second batch, only one of the warranties are any good, after which i ordered 4 more... all of the 4 that came after only have 2 year warranties, warranties that seagate cant fix to the 5 they should have,at this point they have broken me, I give up, im just going to accept the new drives and if/when any of them break, im going to change them out to a WD Gold. it doesnt feel worth it to keep trying.
