Let me first say the quality of this is so good got it during Covid and it’s still in good shape I was a bit worried about it but after receiving it I fell in love so worth the buy

I bought this to use for online meetings in my home office. I noticed the video feed from my camera was a little bit dim, and I figured all the vloggers use ring lights like these, and it was cheap, so I decided to try it.I set it up on a standard camera tripod behind and above my desk, and I only turn it on during meetings.It works well and provides better lighting for the view of me during meetings.I don't use the options much. I played with the three different color modes and the different brightness settings, and they work fine, but I thought my video looked best with it on the bright white and the brightest setting. (It's bright enough, though; I don't need it to go any brighter and could probably get away with a slightly dimmer setting.)I don't use the remote. I think I tried it once and it worked, but I don't use it. To be clear, the remote is to connect to your phone with bluetooth to give you a remote button to trigger photo-taking with your phone. The remote is not to turn the light itself on/off or to change settings. (It would be more useful to me if it was an on/off switch for the light itself -- but I wouldn't pay more money for that functionality, or at least not more than a few dollars.)I also don't use the bracket that is designed to hold your phone, since I use it with a desktop computer for meetings. Again, I tried it once, and it seemed to work fine with my iPhone 7, but that's just not why I got this light.I wish the control button module on the cord was positioned differently. I think I'd either want a longer cord (on both sides of the control buttons) or have the control buttons closer to the USB power end of the cord -- which might be the opposite of what other people would want. For my use, if it was closer to the plug, or at least had more length on the other end of the cord (between the control buttons and the light itself), then I could leave the control buttons where I could reach them from my desk. As it is, I have to walk around to the other side to turn it on/off or adjust settings. But that's not a big deal, so I didn't dock any points off my rating for that.

I was excited about this. I like to cook, and I like to take pictures of my food to share on social media. I also sell things on ebay, and offerup, and other sites like those. I thought it would be good to have a good lighting solution for taking pictures of everything, and I saw this and knew it's what I've been looking for. I got to take a couple of pictures, but then the connector where the light ring is attached separated, and it was no longer usable. I don't know if that is because it was damaged in shipping (no apparent damage), or it was just a weak point. Either way, I can't use it any more, unless I hold the light ring in my hand when I take pictures, and that just won't work for me. I have requested a return, but I'm not sure if I'll order a new one. Just screw a couple parts together and you were good to go. I plugged it into a close by usb charger and was up and running in about a minute. I turned on the bluetooth button, found it on my phone and paired it easily - no additional setup, I just opened the camera app, and pushing the button took pictures. It was way easier than I expected.I liked how you could change the warmth of the lights a lot. It helps when you're taking pictures of food. It was also very easy to change the brightness, and I thought it was well bright enough. I liked being able to adjust the height of the phone, which was easy to place in the holder and more stable than I expected, and it was no more difficult than adjusting a tripod to take a picture. There were certain positions where it didn't feel super stable, likely because it only has 3 legs, but it just takes a little adjusting and you're fine.My only complaint is that it broke at the connector where the light ring is attached to the base. There wasn't any excessive force needed for this, the plastic connector just separated.Other than it breaking, I loved it! I was planning on just returning it and getting my money back, but after writing this, I think I'm going to just purchase a second one and try again.

UPDATED REVIEW: I originally posted that I couldn't really get this item to stand up properly and stay standing. (See below). Since the posting of my review, the seller has reached out to me to provide a few tips on how to make the tripod work better. Although we had tried several things, we tried again. My son figured a way to rig this up so it works for him in the garage for a work light and cell phone station while he's working on projects. I updated from 2 stars to 4 because we do still use it and its working well enough. In addition, the seller has great customer service and they are willing to help if there are any issues with the product. You all know that goes a long way when online shopping.INITIAL REVIEW: The legs that hold up the light and stand are wobbly and hard to get to stay in place. They are not easy to secure and the stand ends up falling over quite a bit. I have to end up leaning it against other things to get it to not fall over. In addition, the light is super bright and it gives me a headache to use (yes, even on different settings) so I keep it off. We mostly use it for online school so that the teacher can see the work my kids are doing and their faces at the same time.

Bought this for the ringligjt itself and not the stand or such, the tripod legs are fine but not what I use in the end. The colors are great, but thr brightness is lackluster, but for the price its at least a good improvement. I wouldve gone with another one in aluminium instead of plastic too.
