Awesome product!
OMG! Love this product! I had previously bought a cheaper masking fluid that was in a squeeze bottle. Horrid on all types of paper. I tried this brand on cheap practice paper as well as good cotton paper. One was only left a few hours, and another overnight. Both removed with just rubbing with my finger. Didn't need an eraser. I do suggest buying the tool to apply. Better than gumming up a brush and works in small areas.

Great Masking Fluid
Goes on easily and rubs off just as well. Performs as expected, very nicely covering areas to remain white in watercolor painting. Dries quickly.

Does the trick
This masking fluid seems to do the trick. This is my first purchase of such a substance for my paintings. It seems to work well for watercolors. It will turn a light yellow color, where you put it. Helps in seeing where it is when you go to remove it (especially if you have really white paper). A few things to note: It is quite liquid-y and runny. This is great if you plan to fling it about, as I did on a couple of paintings. Where I attempted to be a bit more cautious with my placement, it seemed to run a bit too much for my liking. I work flat with my watercolors, but if you work more upright, this could be a bigger issue. It really, REALLY, stinks. My bottle has a bit of a fun, dead fish, smell. Not pleasant. It really doesn't linger, which is a good thing. It WILL ruin any brush you use!!!! Do NOT use a good one. I don't care how fast you clean it out, you won't get this stuff out of the bristles. I used a wonky old thing to begin with, and am glad I did. Cotton swabs seemed to work okay, as well. Hope that helps someone. I plan to try other types/brands in the future. I would really like to compare. Also find something that is thicker in viscosity. Enjoy your painting!

Works for me
Works well for me. This is the only brand I’ve tried, and it masked well and was easy to remove. It has a yellowish tint which heels to show where you have placed it.

Easy To Use
The smell is a bit off-putting (definitely have good ventilation going while you use this) but it was super easy to use. You don't need a whole lot to cover the areas you want to mask. A thin layer is enough, and it's easy to remove (make sure your fingers are dry before you start to rub it off). If you use a brush, someone suggested applying a thin layer of soap to the bristles before dipping it into the fluid, and that seems to do the trick in protecting the brush. The off-white color makes it easier to see on white paper. Very nice product.

Reliable masking fluid. Works well and easy to remove.
I’ve used this masking fluid for years, and it has never let me down. Recently, I tried switching to a different brand but eventually went back to this one because it works perfectly for me. After drying, it doesn’t let water through, and I don’t have much trouble removing it. Just keep in mind that it has a strong smell, though not overwhelming. Here are some tips I’ve learned over time, if it helps anyone: - The best way to apply this or any masking fluid is with a silicone tip. It’s soft and allows you to spread the fluid evenly. Using brushes can damage their bristles, but if you choose to use one, select an old brush or one you don’t mind getting stained. Be sure to wash it immediately after applying the fluid to prevent it from drying on the bristles. - Since this masking fluid has a beige-yellowish tint, the longer you leave it on, the more it can stain the paper. - It can be removed relatively easily with your fingers or a curved tool that won’t damage the paper. Always be very careful, especially with 100% cotton paper, as it’s more delicate (and expensive!). It’s a good idea to test the masking fluid on a separate piece of paper before applying it to your final work.

masking for watercolour
This fluid is good for blocking out small areas we want to remain white when painting watercolours. I often use it for the highlight in the eyes. I often apply it the night before I start the painting so it has a long time to dry. I use a wooden stick or tracing stick to apply the masking fluid as it can damage brushes. A dip pen also works okay, but can scratch the paper if I'm not careful. If we need a bigger area left white then it's better to just not paint that area or use masking tape cut to shape. This masking fluid is mostly for small areas. It seems to be best if removed within 2 days of applying and even then, be careful as it can tear the paper. Best to test before doing an important painting. I made the mistake of shaking it vigorously at the start and this introduced air into the mix which caused some clumps. It's much better if I stir before use instead of shake. This is user error and not a problem with the product. Basically, it behaves exactly as I expected and would be good for watercolour artists of all skill levels.

Very easy to apply - works as I expected.

It works but
When removed, it also removes the first layer of paper. The bad smell is expected. Also, someone said it's yellow that's why they returned it. IT LITERALLY SAYS ON THE DESCRIPTION THAT THE COLOR IS YELLOW. So fix your expectations.
