Impressive - Would Recommend
I got one just to try to get an idea of what all the hype is about. I'll likely never play a real Klon, but I've got a real Timmy and a Wampler Belle to compare it to, and I'd rank it right up there with them in terms of the tones I like. The Timmy has been "my" foundation sound for a while, but mine (unfortunately like many others) just quit working, so I've been trying out some different pedals in the meantime. So far this Silver Horse is the closest I've gotten. I'll probably get the MXR Timmy next to compare.

Great tone
Never played a real Klon but this pedal has great tone. I use it for that perfect crunch rhythm and stack overdrives for that over the top sustained distorted goodness. This pedal sounds great and is a great value. Recommend

Good value
This is a good overdrive pedal. What does that mean? It is not great. What would make it great is size. This is a very compact form factor. It does not sit on a floor easily and requires being well secured to use on a board. This size also necessitates the knobs being very close. Turns out, though, on this unit, I found the knobs rather easy to use. The other downside of this form factor is not enough room for the battery. Even though they clearly tell you it requires EXTERNAL power, in my head I just assumed I’m plugging in a 9V. I had spare parts around the shop and made a 9V DC center positive battery adapter easily enough. That is what you have to expect for this price. The LED is also super bright and makes it hard to see the knobs when active. I would have run the LED down to 3-5 mA to keep the brightness down and extend battery life. Now, all is not bad. Saving the best for last, tone. I liken this to a mix of ProCo Rat and Ibanez Tube Screamer. Playing through a Strat into a 15W tube amp, I got all the volume knob controlled expressiveness and bite to the overdrive. Slam t and it is nice and crunchy. Back off the volume and it just breaks up a little. The tone control lives in a range where the single coil pickup responds very tastefully. I could go from eardrum slicing to “woman tone.”Overall, for the money, you can’t go wrong. Want the best? Go to Ebay and buy a Klon for $2000. I’ll add this little guy to my rig.

Great pedal with a bright blue light
I wasn't expecting much from this pedal when I first got it, but overall I am really impressed with the wide range of tones this little pedal adds to my sound. My only gripe with it (see pictures) is that when the overdrive is enabled, the blue light it emits is blinding. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars.

Sounds Awesome while it last
Love them while they last. This is my second one. The first one died within a day or two and this one just died today 01/18/23. So, that is five months to the day. I only use it once a day for about an hour, maybe some days a little longer. Today when I went to jam there is nothing it's like no power is going to the pedal. The light doesn't come on or anything.I will say their customer service is pretty good. They replaced the first one fast. We will see how they resolve this one.

This overdive earned it's place on my pedal board, after testing 16 overdrive pedals.
This overdrive earned it's place on my pedal board, after testing 16 overdrive pedals! Great tone, and low price too. A no brainer after comparing to so many other overdrive pedals. I am using it to color the sound of a Yamaha THR 10II modeling amp. Please keep in mind that any distortion pedal's tone will change depending on the amp you use it with. So I can only share my experience with my rig, your rig may vary, solid state, tube, and modeling amps, all act differently. But remember Amazon has a great return policy if you don't like it. Rock on!

Overdrive pedal
It’s a great, fun, little pedal. By itself or with another drive pedal(s). It’s not a Klon Centaur but you can get some pretty cool tones with it. Key is to blend it with another pedal, enjoy!!!

Kind of Mind-Blowing for the Price
I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years, and I’ve never come across an overdrive this good for the money. It goes from quite transparent to a mid-boosted lead tone that sounds great. There are a few things I don’t like—I wish there was more headroom on the treble control. Mine has to be up almost all the way for my style. This could vary depending on the pots used pedal to pedal.I also wish the mid-boost added when the gain is turned up would be a little higher on the frequency spectrum. To me it sounds somewhere in the 700-900hz range and I wish it was at 1000hz or above. It doesn’t sound bad, just would like it better if that was a little different. Now—of the Klon clones I’ve heard, it’s not the most faithful representation ever—but at $30, you really cannot get a better overdrive unless you build it yourself. If you’re on the fence, just get it! You won’t be disappointed!
