Safety glasses are required
The rough cut wood siding on the house had paint flaking and pealing off. This tool made it fairly easy to get that paint off and prep the surface for final sanding. It does take some practice but a light touch got the paint off without overly damaging the siding allowing the final sanding to dress things up pretty well. It is absolutely necessary to wear safety glasses as the metal flails eventually work loose and fly off. One might want to wear blue jeans or similar to protect the legs as well. Short story, it worked so well getting half the house sorted out and wearing the tool out in the process that I didn't hesitate to buy a replacement to finish the project.

It doesn't work
The media could not be loaded. The product is supposed to strip paint. I purchased it to help strip an old radiator for repainting. It was less effective than whacking the metal with a hammer or chipping tool.My drill runs at the required speed and I've had long experience with construction and refinishing. The radiator had already been 85%, or better, stripped, manually, before the tool arrived. So this should have been quick and easy, given that tool had been designed—and advertised–as a device that removes paint from metal. The video I've included isn't the best, because in trying to use the tool and film I often miss-aimed. But you can see the stripper in action, and the total lack of effect on the paint remaining on the radiator. The best it could do is remove a few chips and polish the surface it was supposed to be removing paint from. But worse than not removing the paint, was that the tool's tines tangled if the tool was not barely in contact with the surface, which means that it's useless on anything but a flat surface, even if it did remove paint.I short: it seems like a great idea, but in practice it doesn't work.

Paint Stripper & Rust Remover for Drill
Has worked great at removing paint on metal chairs that need rust removed & repainting. Areas that paint has not come off but have been hit by the Stripper are rough & need sanding to clean it up. I have not tried it on wood yet but worry it may beet the wood up requiring a lot of sanding and/or wood filling to clean up. When I have a chance to use on wood I'll add my thoughts on that latter.

I actually didn't purchase this item intentionally. (Totally my fault and not the sellers) (although I am a little confused as to how my one click settings were reactivated without my doing so) but as it turns out I've found this rotostripper to be a very useful tool. I am currently doing a bunch of home projects (remodeling and so forth) and have put this bad boy to use numerous times already. It definitely does what it is supposed to do. I do advise using this very Carefully and responsibly otherwise it could really hurt someone.

Short Lived
I thought that this might be helpful at taking paint off of some old wood. It worked for about 1 hour. Returned / wrote a letter to the manufacturer, and they said that they would ship a new one.Overall the problem is how the unit is made. There is a bolt that runs through the wheel that is just fused to the center plastic part. So once tool gets used for a while, that bolt is going to shear from the plastic (and its beyond repair). So, for minor work (which I thought I was doing), this would be fine. Maybe a 2 minute job on a cast iron pan, and it won't break. But I don't see this running for more than 30 minutes without snapping.

I bought this to strip old peeling paint from a porch ceiling. It works as advertised, but it's not the end-all solution that I was hoping for. I ended up power washing and scraping with a flat blade to remove the loose paint. I'll be interested in trying it on smaller projects. Also have heard that the disc part of it can separate from the spindle, though the mfr will replace it. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on the wheel.

Works perfectly!
This item is as described....I'm using it on a rechargable, specifically to unearth relics found with a metal detector, and this thing is the bees knees for that task - also helps remove rust from said relics, but I'm not really using it for that purpose, just to claw through loose dirt without causing the same damage a shovel would. Repurposed! It also is good as a paint stripper and is sturdy and the tines are well made. Good item, good price, very happy with this purchase.

My advice with experience.
I have had 3 of these. I have stripped all the paint off my wood trim , my cabinets and my floors. Loved the tool but i have had 3 different kinds . This one did not work at all. I couldn't even use it for 5 min and it kept getting tangled up. Now the ones that i have found to work excellent are the ones that are single needles. See where this one has them going both ways on one thing, all it did was get tangled. The single ones go so smooth cause their all the same direction and they don't wrap around the same round bar like this one. I will tell you i will never go without one ever. This tool saved my life and a lot of time and work. It sure was a blessing for me. Also there are 2 of the good ones but i advise you to go with coarse roto stripper cause the thin one kept breaking the needles.
