LYXMY Inflow & Outflow Pipe Set, Metal Lily Pipe Surface-Skimmer, Stainless Steel Inflow Outflow for Aquarium Planted Tank

I have two for my aquariums however both items require glue to stop the bent flow pipe from falling out and into the tank I assumed the first one was just faulty but the second one also requires the rubber band to be glued on both sides... however that said the pipes look superb on both my large aquariums...

The pipes themselves are good, but after using these for a while I've had to replace the skimmer pipe. My filter (fluval 407) kept pulling the skimmer down, so it would keep spinning and bobbing up and down, and suck air into the filter (which will damage the motor over-time).I found that if I manually reduced my filters output then the skimmer would function normally, however, I wanted to keep my filter at full-flow, so I just replaced the skimmer with an aquavitro one... expensive, but works properly. I still use the outflow pipe from this set though.If you have a weaker filter then I'm sure the skimmer on this set will work fine, but if your filter is equal to or greater than my one, I'd look else where for the skimming part.

While the pipes work perfectly well they weren't quite as per picture. The long straight sections that your outlet/inlet pipes connect to weren't as long and the plastic surface skimmer inlet was a different shape. This other plastic skimmer has allowed shrimp and a fish to be sucked down into my pre-filter.If it was as pictured here, with much smaller gaps then I doubt if have had the same problems and my rating would be 4*.

The surface skimmer is inadequate since the floater does not stay at the surface despite trying to adjust the flow at the bottom which makes it ineffective for the job that it's supposed to do. Worst still, 3 fish went through the skimmer unbeknown to me and ended up in the external filter, by shear luck, the filter was due for a clean and I managed to save 2 fish!Not sure if this a design fault or the skimmer is faulty L

This was a little more expensive than others on here but choose it because of the shorter delivery date. The pipes are a lot shorter than the product photos suggest. Skimmer pipe overall length 33cm & has a plastic flow adjustment at the bottom. Inlet pipe is 25cm & the curled end joint (inner plastic parts) swivels. My tank is only 40cm deep so may keep it. If returned to swap would I get the same item again ?

Decided to go for this product for the skimmer. The product works well.Nice build quality, with a good finish

Very tough and durable stainless steel pipes. Kicking myself for not buying them sooner. Having them in the tank over the default spray bar and filter intake is night and day and gives my whole aquascape a much more finished and professional look l. If my Mrs. ever alloes a second tank i will be buying again.
