RV Fresh Water Locking Cap Spring and Seal Ring Design with Inlet Gravity Fresh Water Filling Hatch for Camping Trailer Gravity RV (Black)

This is a no-brainer: a locking cap so people cannot mess with your fresh water supply; a must have for any RVer.Note: when you remove the existing water cap the hose that connects the water tube will likely not fit. To connect this new water cap with the existing water hose I bought a ProSource Tubular Drain Pipe Connector, which is a quick and easy way to extend/connect 1 1/2" or 1 1 1/4" pipes.

Bought this as a replacement part. Love the spring lock! Need to press key against edge for it to slide into lock (see pic). Very quick and easy install. It was difficult to see if the old one was securely locked... and we ended up losing cap on the freeway.We got black to match the surrounding area and it looks and works great! Definitely recommend!

Somebody else already posted in detail how to install this.(Thank You!!) I just followed their instructions and everything went fine. NOTE: the drill holes likely won't fit your travel trailer so you will have to drill new holes. Also, you will likely need to purchase an adapter for the intake hose as it does not fit.

I have three water tanks I'm installing in my rv. All of them have a one and a half inch filler hose. This has a larger hose barb and will not fit and I cannot find an adapter for it. I will have to throw it away or return it

This would probably be fine as a new installation. Two main issues keep it from being a good upgrade to an existing non-locking fresh water fill. First, the overall diameter is undersized (4 3/8”) so that the screw holes will not match up to the originals. That’s if your opening is small enough to allow the new screws to engage. Second, the water line fitting is 1 1/2” diameter which is the exact same diameter of our water line to the fresh water tank. The original fixture’s water line fitting is 1 1/4”, so good luck with coming up with an adapter. Odd decision on the manufacturer’s part to not make this a easy drop-in replacement.

Our camper had a locking fresh water cap on it for about three years. Unfortunately, keys went missing. Bought this one that looked the same to get new keys. Arrived fairly quick, and sure enough, the keys worked in the old one perfect! I decided to replace our existing full housing any cap anyway as the existing one was starting to fade. My only complaint was that this one came with small, cheap, unpainted screws...I ended up reusing the existing screws which were painted black to match already. Manufacturer - for 5 stars, spend and charge the extra 25 cents and throw in the right color matched screws! Otherwise, this was a perfect fit and replacement. Note to others as well - this comes with a foam gasket to seal against the trailer wall and keep rain and water out. I tossed the gasket and used butyl tape instead, as the foam seemed a bit thin and I wasn’t convinced it would have a good seal.
