The Invisible Dog

My niece has just turned 7 and I wanted to introduce her the magic of Dick King Smith. She loves the books and can't wait to get more!

My 10 year old - a dog lover - and I enjoyed this sweet book about a little girl who longs for a dog and believes she has one on the end of a leash, until she does indeed get a visible one.

Santa sent us this and we loved the book.

I am always looking for "animal" stories to interest my daughter. This author has written many stories that keep her interest and The Invisible Dog is no exception. The story is simple, a girl wants a dog, her parents are reluctant. The girl finds an old collar and leash and imagines her pet. Through a series of remarkable coincidences, her dream comes true at the end of the story.

What a delightful story!

This item was bought for my cousin for her primary school class, she said this was perfect to improve their reading skill level.

Another sweet animal tale by Dick King Smith, we've enjoyed many of his books recently. Just misses out on 5 stars as I felt this one ended rather suddenly and confused my children a little but a sweet tale all the same about a little girl longing for a Great Dane of her own.

Bought this for our 5 year old daughter as she loves dogs and in particular, because it features a Great Dane. I enjoyed reading it to her and it touched on the themes of losing a pet, wanting another etc, which we could identify with. It would suit an older child reading the book alone but equally worked well for an adult to read to a 5 year old.

This book was advertised as used in good condition so I was a little bit dubious but i was delighted to find it was as new so very pleased with purchase. A nice little story too.
