Is this thing good at small tasks? Like bushcraft stuff?

I don't know what you mean by bushcraft stuff but this is a well made knife that is blade heavy. If you're talking about weeding out flower gardens or limbs around a campsite it works well. The blade is 440 stainless and hold a great edge. It feels great in the hand and real good for skinning deer and making shoulder cuts with ease.

what is the blade length?

Well the overall length is approx. 9.5", I have not measured the blade length, but guessing, I would say it would be about 6.5" long. Amazon sells knives with longer blades check them out and decide which is right for you.

Yes, it is a very thick, sturdy blade.

Is thid good for field dressing a deer?

Yes you could field dress a deer with it. It's a good sturdy blade and it holds an edge really well
