Here's How This Works, Folks...
Credibility: I have worked at pet stores in the past and assembled many cages like this one and a variety of others, so I have an excellent background for comparing models.Pros: It's very cheap for its size, much sturdier than other reviews lead you to believe, provides additional space via shelving.Minor Cons: Requires a single tool for assembly that is not included in the box. This is not really a con because I've NEVER seen this tool included in ANY self-assembled item.******Details*******Price: If I had assembled this cage for a pet store, I guarantee it would be put on the display floor with a price tag over $100, probably more like $150, so the price here is GREAT! No complaints there. My opinion is that this cage is a great compromise to a single or double-level Critter Nation for over $240. The CN is the Cadillac of cages for small animals and will last your lifetime and longer. Get a CN if you want a cage that will withstand careless storage habits. This more economical options has bars you see in typical finch cages and can be dented or bent if you stick it in the back of your garage or stack a bunch of stuff on top of it.Assembly: Do you really need instructions to put a 6 sided object with 6 pieces (counting the bottom & tray area as one) together? Really? This model took me about twenty minutes to put together, including the addition of a corner litter pan, hides, and hammocks.Minor Lack of Tool: Pliers, I'm sure you have some. Cages like this are meant to have the catches clamped to secure the pieces together. This makes the cage ten times sturdier and less tacky than using wire ties, zip ties, or other strange items buyers seem to think they need. Smaller pliers work best because they fit into the 1/2" spacing between bars.Other thoughts: The cage is designed to house a variety of critters, so there are lots of slide-up doors to accommodate for full access to every level. I am keeping five happy rats in this cage, so I did have to secure the openings to prevent escape. I mostly used accessories like hammocks, strategically placing their clips to hold the doors. There are two large doors that have catches so they stay open when you pull them all the way up, which is nice. The cage is light enough that I can move it with ease. This feature is important to me because I have fibromyalgia and am frequently in pain and exhausted. Once the cage is clamped together properly, dis-assembly should not be attempted. The hooks that have been clamped down can break if bent too many times. This cage was exactly what I was looking for. I love it, my rats love it, and my husband is thrilled to have a single cage instead of two or three smaller ones in the living room. =D

Good, but....
What drew me to order this cage was the price and the size. My two sugar gliders love the cage, but it is very noisy when they are playing so don't plan on putting this cage in the room you sleep in. IT DOES NOT COME WITH ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS! and I was baffled by this! Why wouldn't the seller include instructions?? It took me about 2 hours to assemble the cage after searching the internet for a set of instructions! I also realized that it came assembled wrong!! (Which is one of the reasons it took so long to assemble) The bottom of the cage, where the pull out tray goes, was attached to the wrong side so I had to use pliers to take it apart and re-attach it properly. Even after figuring out how to assemble the cage it was very difficult to keep it held together, I had to use pliers to tighten the sides so it wouldn't collapse. It also did not come with anything to keep all the doors closed so I had to go out and buy locks. After finally assembling the cage correctly and making sure all the sides were tightened the cage is pretty sturdy and hasn't fallen apart yet. Be careful when ordering this product it was VERY frustrating when assembling it, but my sugar gliders seem to love the room they have to run around.

If IKEA made pet cages
So I bought this cage for 2 albino female rats because I couldn't afford one of the marketed rat cages (that tend to be more accessible to clean). For assembly, the pieces had hooks ghat were supposed to hold it together, but it was incredibly unstable. I ended up peace tying everything into place and it was time consuming but it worked pretty well. I put one level in but no others and no step ladders because rats love to climb so I added lots of hammocksThings to be aware of if you're getting this for rats:This cage rattles a lot, so if you're rats are in your room you won't get ANY sleep. The bottom of the cage is grated, so you will have to put something down to protect their little paws.I lay down newspaper and fleece and hold it down with bricks which also helps file their claws.Over all, this wasn't a bad cage for the price (if you're willing to put in extra work) and is a good size for a most 2 rats. Would not recommend for more than that.

Quality Cage at a Great Value
I bought this cage for my two rats and I am so glad I did! This cage is perfect because it is light weight, making it easy to move and deep clean frequently. The assembly was simple, just requires your own pair of needle nosed pliers. The black wire looks classy and the levels/ramps are a perfect fit. Fantastic quality and an unbelievable value!
