Seemed like a great product, but inner wire and soft outer foam separated easily and wouldn't stay together on the plants
I purchased these Tierra Garden brand Soft Tie garden tie product to tie up my tomato plants to tomato cages and bamboo stakes. At first glance, it seemed like the perfect plant tie product, as it uses a soft foam-like material on the outside of bendable metal wire - offering both stability from the metal wire, but also foam on the outside as to not damage delicate plant stalks and leaves. After spending an hour or two using it to tie up one tomato plant, however, I began to see that this isn't the perfect product I had hoped it would be. The problem is that the wire on the inside, and the soft foam outer material, does not stay together very well. Therefore, many times I would snip off a small piece to use to tie a tomato branch, and the wire and foam would come apart from each other when I tried to secure the small piece to the tomato plant. This meant that the wire slipped out of the foam material, and thus, the inner metal core support was lost for the plant. This happened regardless of whether I was using just a small length of this tie, or a long length.Overall, I was able to tie most of my first couple of tomato plants to the tomato cages and bamboo stakes, but it became very annoying when the product separated from each other. Therefore, after the first couple of plants I stopped using this altogether and grabbed a couple of pairs of old tights, and started snipping up those to use instead. Pieces of old tights worked much better than this slim tie product, as they held well but yet were soft enough not to damage the plants. Perhaps this product would work better if you used it to secure large branches like with berry bushes, instead of delicate plants like tomatoes. It seems like there should be some easy way that the manufacturer could make this product so that the inner wire core was permanently attached to the soft foam outer material. Until they do, however, next time I will skip buying a special garden product to use as plant ties, and go with the tried and true method of old tights. It is cheaper also.

Love This Stuff - Very Easy to Cut and Use - Versatile Product
My initial review of this product was before I had time to use it for a while. It was a five start review then and still is, but I did not praise it enough the first time. I don't say this very often, but I love this stuff. It is by far the best thing I have ever used to help tie down branches - and I have tried it all.I have a scrog net installed and I use this to help bend and tie branches down to keep my canopy at a uniform height. This stuff is so easy to cut and use and it's nice and soft so my ladies just love it too. I use it in short lengths and long lengths. You can use it with just a small hook on each end to gently bend a light branch or you can twist it to hold more firmly on larger stronger branches. It's also very easy to remove and make adjustments when needed. There is nothing else I will ever use for tying branches.I will find out soon just how reusable it is, but I see no reason why it would not be. I will definitely be buying more of this product. The price is very reasonable for how much you get. Love it...love it...love it.Update September 2020I found a very similar product at my local hydro shop for a lot less money so I will not be making another purchase. I still love it, but it is way over priced for what you get. Seems like the price has gone up a bit since my original purchase too.

Great alternative to twist ties, Gear Ties, and in some cases, zip ties
This stuff is fantastic. I don't use it for plants or gardening, but have been going crazy with it around the house since it arrived. It is the perfect twist tie, holds it's shape, grips itself and whatever it's wrapped around, and can be cut to length! I have small pieces for my earbuds, medium ones for usb cables and power adapters, longer ones for extension cords. I even have two strips discretely holding up surround speakers to my bedposts! This is a necessary organizational tool for anyone with wires in their house. And helpful not just for storage, but for keeping wires that are in use from sprawling in different directions and tangling. Everything coming out the back of my iMac is now in a single line, and doesn't part ways until behind my desk. And one of the best things about this stuff is that it's non-committal, as opposed to something like single use zip-ties. If I was unhappy with, my speaker placement for instance, it would be very easy to move it up to another position. I can cut a long piece, and if I don't need it so long I can trim off a piece to use for something else. It's useful in almost any length. For things needing strong tension like the speakers I twist it, for almost everything else I just wrap it around 1-3 times. It holds together very well in this fashion, which is nicely suited for wires or things you might want to access regularly. This product is thoroughly reuseable, so I can keep my earbuds from tangling while i'm not using them, and quickly unwrap them when needed. Frankly I think wire management and home organization might actually allow for fuller use of this product's merits than simply gardening could. But then I'm not a gardener. And while I haven't used Gear Ties (they were what I was originally looking for), Soft Tie seems to accomplish everything I would need from them at about 1/30th of the price per foot. So until these are unable to do something that Gear Ties can, I think I'll be buying Soft Tie.Btw, I bought both the green and the brown; green seems a touch tackier, though it's not a tackiness that come off on fingers or wires thus far. Just feels a little grippier. Brown seems equally capable of performing like tasks, and obviously blends in a bit better if you have wood furniture that it will be in close proximity to.

Perfect for nose wire for face masks
Bought this as I have been making face masks for my family to wear and was looking for something to pinch over the bridge of nose to mould mask to face. This is perfect.Sewn into the top of mask it works wonders and the soft silicone like protection around wire means it is broader than ordinary garden wire and there are no pointy ends to worry about either.

Great product and good price
I always buy this soft tired for all our summer plants, mainly sunflowers. I also use it on my cacti indoors. We never use anything else, but normally i get it from b&m. As we havent been able to get out I was really happy to see it sold on Amazon, and I really like the colour of this soft tie more than others I've seen. Came really quickly and a good price!

Fantastic plant tie.
This plant tie is soft and gentle for tying in plants. It's easy to use, just take off what you need using snips as there is a thin wire running inside the rubber. I have been using this type of plant tie for years and it is very good. I would recommend to buy as I'll be buying again when I need some more.

Strong but gentle.
I have become a serious fan of this twine, it’s sturdy like you’d expect with wire but rubber coated. It doesn’t dig into your plant as it grows. Very impressed with this particularly when used on sunflowers, where is is hard to estimate growth. It is very forgiving, whilst giving plants the guidance they need.

Best garden aid ever
Repeat order on this product. So useful in the garden protecting delicate plants as they grow. Very easy to use. Love the ability to hang up the skein in the shed for easy access when working in the garden.
