Works for Propane Fireplace
Replaced my fireplace thermostat. This works fine. The actual thermostat isn't terribly accurate - margin of error 4-5 degrees - but most people us a fireplace thermostat as an on/off switch anyway. Two-wire system, installed in minutes.

Great millivolt thermostat
Fireplace was taking forever to kick on. Tested and determined the old dial thermostat wasn’t working properly. Got this to replace it as I needed an millivolt thermostat and couldn’t find one at the local big box store. Easy to install, looks good, works great. Can’t beat it for the price

Temperature markings are a soft guideline, but once set, it works like a champ.
Connected it to a fireplace in my living room. Originally, the fireplace had an on/off wall switch. Now it has this thermostat controlling it, automatically. Much better! The temperature markings are way off: I set it to 68 F, and then I let it run for an hour. I used a laser pointer thermometer to check the carpet: 78 F! The furniture, eight feet from the fireplace, was at 78F I adjusted the temp bar down to 66, and the fireplace turned off. I will continue to adjust the temperature setting slider, until the room is just right. Not a big issue for the cost of the unit. It was super-easy to install, and it works superbly, aside from the temperature markings being off. Would buy it again, without hesitation. I can mark the temp slider, myself. Cheers!

Product as described - using for wall furnace
A wall gas furnace is all we have for a home built in 1940. The furnace HEATS the house perfectly. (better than my neighbors forced heat system)Originally, we used a digital wall thermostat that wouldn't regulate the heater properly nor "click" the heater on when set at a particular temperature. This type of product was recommended by our local gas company. Once the temperature is set it's been working perfectly. No it isn't like NEST, have time schedule or hi-tech capabilities. It's OLD SCHOOL - Easy to install, doesn't protrude from the wall mount and when you're cold, you'll need to get up and slide the thermostat to the desired temp. Works as described and to our needs.

at least it turns the gas furnace on and off
It's hard to imagine how they could have designed a worse user interface for this useful device--maybe if it were completely invisible? I've made several attempts to stick post-its with lines and temperatures over top of the imprecise calibrations that are painted on the front of unit, but the pointer is too fat, and too far behind the front of the unit which casts a shadow on it, and open on the top which allows my finger to cast a second shadow on it as I adjust it. Like the Mona Lisa's eyes, depending on where I hold my head, the indicated temperature changes quite dramatically. The upshot is that setting the temperature to 68 vs 70 vs 75 is a variable guessing-game.Next, I will try bulking up the indicator with a piece of cardboard that brings the indicator closer to the front and drawing a thin line, then resetting my paper scale. And then I'll add some sort of top cover so that the shadow of my hand can't fall onto the pointer as I set the temp. All that said, it quite responsively turns the furnace on and off the instant I ask it to. So it's better than what I had before, which was a "smart" (i.e., bossy and high-maintenance) thermostat that required that 4 times per day, 7 days per week be individually set, AND even on manual/hold setting only turned the furnace on when it felt like it, not when I asked it to or when out of range of the set temperature. So at least I'm not cold. :)

Gas Fireplace Control
Easy to use and install. Better than using a manual switch or battery operated digital thermostat.Battery free, analog controller for millivolt system. Don’t forget to remove the tiny piece of cardboard between terminals; otherwise, contacts will never close and fireplace will not ignite.Cons: doesn’t operate off wifi.
