I ordered these because I wanted two 3x2x1 metal blocks.What I got were two 3x2x1 metal blocks. They look good too. Machined properly and no defects as far as I can tell.Would buy again 100%.

Tried to get these little blocks on Amazon for about a month, and always "undeliverable" - out of stock. Well worth it, though, when they arrived because they are literally like precision instruments.I'm using them for building n-gauge models and have put aside all the steel-tray magnet devices, yellow-block types, and nearly use these exclusively. Why? Because they line up within a hair-width to dead square. They hold very well without requiring a tool to uncouple them. They are compact and versatile - one side is 1", one is 2" and the other is 3" PRECISELY.Great buy. Good price. No wonder they are sold out a lot.

Good tolerance, checked with my micrometer. Worked for checking my small bubble levels.

I don't use these in the traditional way, in a machine shop. Rather, just in my home hobby workshop where I do woodworking, general workshop piddling, and building radio control model airplane kits. I find 1-2-3 block to be enormously useful for many things. The known (and precise) size is very handy as a reference point. They are heavy enough to stay put, or used to weigh down things while being glued, and to be a 90 degree square reference face to hold components square to my workbench when gluing.Since I am not using these on a milling machine or other machine shop tool, the tight size tolerances do not matter to me, and I take their word on the size. However, it is nice to know that if I ever do need that precision, then it is there.These were packaged extremely well, with a nice coating of what appears to be cosmoline, which prevents rust during storage. I cleaned that off with mineral spirits, then wiped all surfaces with Rennaissance (sp?) wax, to prevent corrosion and help keep my glue from sticking to them.The single hold could come in very handy if I need to pass something through it or bolt it to something.

The accuracy of blocks is good. However packaging was extremely poor. The two packages were placed inside a very large box with no filler material. The packages just rattled around inside. Luckily the blocks were not damaged. I ran over the blocks with a precision stone and did not detect any damage....luck not good management.

In all seriousness, these are great! I put one to use for more traditional purposes and it's more than accurate enough for my needs. All in all, awesome at its job! One came with a minor scratch on it on one side, just deep enough to pull threads if you brush it on something. but since I didn't need both to be pristine it really doesn't matter.The second one I've cleaned to within an inch of its life and I leave it in the kitchen for softening butter since it's so thermally conductive that just running it under tepid water is enough that it will melt the bottom layer of the butter by the time you pull your hand back to your side. I think it's going to stay there too, it's too handy and too effective. 10/10 would recommend a tiny slab of metal for your kitchen.

I find it odd how this passed QC considering overall the blocks are nicely machined and finished. How does a so called matched pair get past QC when one of the holes is off center with the other. This is unacceptable and my reason behind giving this 3 stars, otherwise they seem accurate and well made I cant seem to find a way to get in touch with the company or I would because I should be sent one new one to match the center hole of the one good one I am not sending both back. (See Pics).It seems the Quality Control of years ago is completely gone when a block for machinists made by machinists can't even drill the holes center on 2 blocks.So who knows if you will get a good matching set or a non matching set like I received. so I feel a possible buyer needs to be aware of this before purchase. So on that note do you feel lucky if yes then maybe give these a shot. if not maybe PASS ...

These measurement blocks confirmed my suspicion that my tape measure was broken, and needed to be replaced. I needed these to prove it, the tape measure was off by a tiny, almost unnoticeable anount.
