Is the cord black? I need a white diffuser but the picture shows a black cord which doesn't make since.

Can you use this without the lights on? I prefer no light

Yes. This diffuser can be used with or without the lights.

Has anyone owned this diffuser for a few months and it's still running well?

Thanks for asking! Our diffusers will run well for at least 3-5 years of consistent use. Make sure to keep water in the tank while operating, and occasionally wipe down the ultrasonic node of possible essential oil buildup, with a dry paper towel.In response to the other answer provided, our diffuser is designed to automatically shut off after 16 to 18 hours to reduce the chance of being operated on an empty water tank.

Any recommendations for which oils to use? (name of the brand would be helpful as well)

We recommend using 100% organic essential oils. Some brands that we like are rocky mountain oils and plant therapy. Hope that helps : )
