Q: One package contains 2 of these holders?

One package contains 2 half holders. Two are need to hold one end of the tunnel. There is a velcro flap on the end of each half. When velcroed together, it looks like the picture.

Q: Will these also hold the tunnel top upright? Keep the top of the opening from laying back on itself?

Hello- I am the seller- if your tunnel lays back on itself it sounds like a very thin material; these saddlebags are best used on thick and sturdy competition quality tunnels, to prevent them from moving as the dog enters and exits the tunnel. We haven't tested them on thin nylon material tunnels, but you are welcome to try and return them if they don't meet your needs. Thank you!

Q: will it fit a 24" diameter tunnel opening-long enough to hug tunnel without collapsing it??

Hello Sigi, Yes the velcro strap is designed to hug a standard 24" diameter tunnel without constricting it. Note that depending on your tunnel it might be easier to secure the velcro and THEN place the bags over the tunnel, otherwise the straps may appear to be short, but they are not. Hope this helps.
