Great ride, terrible music
This DVD is exactly what I was looking for. I'm in between a beginner and intermediate - it's perfect for my level (it also has levels for seasoned riders. Cathe is very good at explaining the various positions and I caught on easily. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the AWFUL music - seriously, it's so bad I choose the no music selection and play my own. This was very surprising and disappointing because anyone who is familiar with spinning knows music is a must - it helps with rythum, speed and the overall atmosphere - so I'm challenged to decipher why they would produce a great doin video with horrible, mind numbing music. Other than that, I highly recommend (just plan on using your own tunes!)

Cathe, I love you.
This starts out more gently than Cycle Max does, so I was at first a little disappointed, thinking that I wasn't going to get as good of a workout, but boy does it pick up the pace!! I was positively dying by the end (in the best possible way!), and I'm definitely grateful for how it starts out now haha One thing I thought would have been nice is a little more variety within each exercise type: I felt like we stayed doing the same thing (standing, what have you) for much longer than in CycleMax, instead of mixing it up. It's not just a stamina thing, there were times when it was just the teensiest bit boring, which made it seem longer. Don't get me wrong, though, I still love the DVD, I'd give it 4.5 if I could. The music isn't actually composed of real songs; the tunes are the same as popular songs, but the lyrics are different and super lame. I'm considering setting up the same playlist with the real songs and playing them over the tape, but this issue really isn't a deal breaker for me. I definitely would recommend this workout :)

Love Cathe!!
I have used Cathe's DVD workouts for years and love her!! These spinning DVDs are no exception. She is a true professional - extremely focused on the workout and helping you get the most out of it. Some people say she talks too much and, yes, she talks continuously throughout the exercise, but in an effort to keep you motivated and focused. She gives you all the important tips on form and function so you get the best results without injuries. And, yes, she repeats those tips throughout the workout. She's always talking to you and the people she's riding with in the studio to keep you engaged and energized. She is working just as hard as she is pushing you to. And, yes, the music is some studio-generated version almost like the hit songs you know. However, I don't care. The music isn't that important to me.....an effective workout is what counts, and Cathe delivers that every time!! I knew when I chose her spinning DVDs that I would get the no-nonsense, professional workout session that I was looking for.

Spinning to the Knockoffs!
As a 40 year old out-of-shaper I was able to get through the whole video on my first try but probably coasted 20% of the time just to make it through. If you're a beginner like me or pretty low level this is likely a good 1st video to feel bad about yourself while peddling away to Cathe's knockoff soundtrack. Who doesn't love the timeless 'Lets Do Something', not to be confused with 'Lets go Crazy' by Prince. Funny enough it isn't too distracting as the vocals on the songs are pretty low. You mostly hear Cathe and the beat, which is good, but occasionally the songs standout for the knockoffs they are.Overall, good first video for in-home spinners.

This is a great workout for spinning
This is a great workout for spinning. I got a spin bike because I like the variety that most spin instructors do in their workouts--jumps, hovers, climbs, sprints, etc. This video does a great job of leading you through the workout and changing things up. You don't need a bike with a computer, Cathe uses perceived exertion and the music tempo to set the pace. Cathe does a good job of talking through the video, of being informative without getting annoying. I like that the music isn't the typical techno-background noise that you normally get with this kind of video, but is actual songs. The somewhat odd thing about the music though is that they are "re-done" semi-popular songs--I recognized a few of the tunes, but the lyrics have been changed (to avoid paying royalties, I assume?) So it's a little strange, but I don't listen to the music closely enough for it to bother me. Overall a great video!

I would recommend this DVD
I have a personal spin bike and had a hard time riding with just music. I decided to give this DVD a try and glad that I did. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The music does not over power her voice while she is talking. And it's pretty good music. And BONUS there are actually a total of 5 rides provided. One really long (over an hour) and 3 about 30-40mins.If I could improve this I would request she add "alternate" positions for those you have issues being out of the saddle.I haven't tried her other DVDs but I would if I get bored with this one.

I like that Cathe explains posture and form and continues to ...
This video should cover beginner through more in shape cyclists - with spinning you can always have your own level of tension and exertion. I like that Cathe explains posture and form and continues to reference those throughout the workout. My favorite feature is the mixup choices! You can do the whole dvd from start to finish or you can choose a number of preset workouts that range in length and are accommodating to your level of exercise or your allotted time. My personal opinion is that the music is horrible, so be prepared for that. :-)

... the gym and I don't think she is as good as my instructors
I have done spin classes at the gym and I don't think she is as good as my instructors...I do think she does a pretty good job. I, like many reviewers, did not care for her music selection. I turn off the music and leave on the audio - turn on my own music. I'm used to spinning with some pretty loud and good music. This works well for me. This video does the job for now, until I find one that might be better. All in all, it is a good workout - not my favorite - but it is a good workout.

Good - but not for the beginner!
This is a good video - but not for a beginner. Was looking for something that was a bit slower to start and with some arm work involved. It's a work out though!!
