This is an extraodinary little book. Who wrote it and how it came to be, is a bit of a mystery...but it presents Jesus in a way that is revelatory. Heeding its message could be life changing.

The Time Has Come to Live These Truths
This book was first published in the year of my birth, 1933. Its vision is not only that of the Master Jesus and the truth he taught long ago, but of the need of our time to return to and live according to these wise and ancient teachings. This humanity has never truly attempted. When we begin to live these teachings we shall truly see the birth a new world, a new civilization on Earth. It is for such a time the world is NOW preparing. In part two of this beautiful book by Cyril Scott (all of his books should be read by anyone seeking deeper spiritual understanding), prophecies of what lies ahead are made. For example:In the New Testament we find this saying: "There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and there is nothing secret that will not become known and come to light." (Luke 8:17) In The Vision of the Nazarine, we are told that scientific instruments will be built of such great sensitivity "that Nature will be compelled to lay bare yet more of her secrets before the eyes of even the most skeptical." We're told these instruments will enable us to "see the unseen and hear the unheard" -- that the secret lives of all men will be unveiled and that those who seek to exploit humanity for their own selfish/destructive ends will be known by all humanity for what they are. Then will the human family rise up and overthrow its enemies and begin to see the glorious future it deserves -- one of love and truth and freedom -- start to be fulfilled. In another work by Alice Bailey, we're told, "He for Whom all men wait is on His way back to ordinary visibility." We are are on the verge of the most remarkable evolutionary leap forward the human race has ever known. A better world awaits us if we have the courage to make it happen, but it will not come about with our help.Though written in 1933 and frequently republished, this is a book every true spiritually minded person regardless of religion or faith should take time to read...and live. These truths are not uniquely Christian; they are simple yet profound teachings each and every human being should seek to make fundamental to their lives.

For open minded thinkers!
One of the best books of it's kind in print. Cyril Scott lays out in lament easy to understand terminolgy the philosphy of the way christianity should be viewed and taught, and not traditionally believed. Gives plain and simple explanations on how scriptures can be misrepresented, and how wrong thought process can discourage the novice christian believer.Jesus the master is seen from a most wonderful, realistic, down to earth point of view. The writer paints a Jesus or Nazerene that is for the most part real and beliveable.

Sublime - My Desert Island Book.
I have this by my bed and read parts of it when I want to be spiritually soothed and uplifted.Obviously one has to at least accept the possibility that Cyril Scott was in communion with the Master Jesus and could have recorded the master's words faithfully, to be able to enjoy the book, but if you can, then it is a transporting and transforming experience to read it. As plenty of Christians claim to be able to commune with this master, then it doesn't seem outlandish that Cyril Scott could (and better). To be able to read what Jesus has to say to a modern (well, 1930s) audience is clarifying, exciting and yes, soothing to the soul. How many Christians would give their right arms to be able to read what Jesus has to say and yet would not give this book a second look as it was written by Cyril Scott, the occultist and Theosophist. In fact one of his other books is called: 'An Outline of Modern Occultism' and all open minded scholars of the spiritual life should read it.So if you want to read what Jesus has to say to us today (ish), read The Vision of The Nazarene. The Nazarene, naturally being Jesus himself. I only add this because I was surprised that my wife (a Christian) didn't seem to grasp the phrasing at all.It also helps with the reading of this work if you already accept that 'The Christ' and 'Jesus' are two different beings. Jesus having been over-shadowed for those brief 3 years of his ministry. You mean you didn't know that?! Oh, but it's common Theosophical knowledge. Plenty still to learn then and this book will help as will Cyril's other works such as The Initiate series.
