I feel sorry for those who received damaged/dented products, so I feel lucky that my unit arrived undamaged and in perfect condition. Having said that, I see how a flimsy layer of cardboard sheet attached to the base pallet may not provide much protection during shipping. Perhaps Generac should consider investing another $25 for a fully framed out protection.Speaking of delivery, my generator arrived 90 minutes later of the delivery window's upper limit. Since it was a Saturday, there was no-one available to talk to. Phone calls went to voicemail or calling the corporate number message was "mailbox full". Keep that in mind when you schedule delivery outside of normail business hours M-F.Prepare to buy a battery (about $60) and if you live in cold climate, a cold weather kit (around $200) to keep your battery and oild filter warm during winter. None of these are included.Currently working on hooking up the unit. Already ran the gas line and the wires to the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATF).I am giving a 5 star review in anticipation of everything working out as expected. Should something not, I will come back and update my review.

Solid heavy weight home generator.INSTALL: All parts in crate except a battery. Easy to install fuel lines but most buyers will need a "permited" electrician for final panel hook up. Instructons easy to follow if you have some background. Customer service (real humans) was very friendly knowledgable and helpful and picked up within 5 min for each call.NOISE: Obviously a large generator....Too loud to converse standing next to it running but it did run both my 5 ton AC's during double start up and all the normal house parts during summer testing.PRO TIP: Hunt down a correct sized battery sooner than later so not to hold up any testing. Buggers are not a common size out here in God's country

Purchased this 24kw Generac to replace a 14-year-old 17kw unit that had failed. The old unit had provided years of great service so when it failed, I decided to purchase a new unit, but upgrade the power level a little. With the old unit, I did have to limit total appliances that I used simultaneously as the house is all electric with the exception of the furnace. With the new unit there will be no limits.NOTE: There was MINOR shipping damage when the unit arrived. The trucking company took pictures, as did I, and notated damage on the shipping delivery document. I went on Amazon and clicked the "call me now" button. Brandon came on the line right away. He was totally professional and knowledgeable. After sending Brandon a couple of pictures, he and I were able to quickly come up with a satisfactory resolution. THANKS BRANDON.

this generator started up twice, but since then, it won't run. Have purchased two brand new batteries and a code keeps coming up "low battery". now can't get generator to kick in. Installation was properly done by following the booklet instructions. Have called generac several times & not getting much help there. Had a generac technician come out & all he said was even though the wiring was done according to the booklet, that a 4 grade wiring was requiring, but he really didn't tell us why the generator wasn't kicking in. I am very frustrated & feel like I have wasted $5500. I purchased this item because my husband is a fully disabled vet & I wanted reassurance & security of having power. Not sure what else I can do.

Bought this Generac 24kw whole house generator to have automatic power transfer during outages, it came with a 200amp transfer switch and a bunch of useful features. It was packed well and bolted on a pallet, the cardboard carton that surrounded it was a little worse for wear but the contents were fine (undamaged). Note: the generator requires a battery but it’s not included, and if you live in cold weather country you’ll want to order the cold kit which includes a battery warmer and oil filter warmer (worth the money). Also, if you have home wireless there are several features you can take advantage of including Generac’s mobile link which allows for remote monitoring and alerts etc. (visit their site and read more there). I must say the unit is much quieter than I though it would be, I fired the unit up to initialize and we let it run for a bit while we reignited it etc., by wife was in a bedroom right next to where the unit is located and she did not hear a thing. Standing right in front of it with the covers on and shut its extremely quiet, very impressive! (Note: I’m using LP gas and I understand that is quieter than natural gas. (This generator will use either once you set it up right, just a lever to move.) overall very happy with my purchase. Had to use customer support for a few minor things, they were quick and professional.

It is very noisy but it works well and does it’s job

I liked the price; however it was delivered 4 days early. I was my home and they left it in front of my garage door. Had to pay someone to come move it so we could get our vehicles out. Delivery stated that someone must be present for delivery and they would call prior to delivery. None of that happened.

The noise level is kinda load but I don't mind cuz I can know it have turned on while In the house. And it's bare able noise. Best to have it so when bad weather comes your ready to keep your family safe and house well lite. Continue your activities and keeps children from panicking. A very good item to have. Also it u can set a schedule on the mobile app to test run the unit that way it keeps all oils and moving parts lubricated and ready to work when it needs to. Also if there's anything wrong it should send information to your mobile app. Very well thought to protect your investment.

Take your money real quick but having sooooo much trouble returning it to get a larger one. Would not buy through Amazon again for this large of an item

large price variations from the different suppliers, no product availability from Generac for needed switches..Better warranty and sound level from other manufacturers.

Back up home power, Amazon delivered but Generac customer support did not. Generator has a low oil pressure warning fault and kicks off line. Filed a warranty claim. Local dealer, Whitepine Electric did the service call after a month, didn’t have parts, said they’d be back, that was two months Ago. Generac hasn’t followed up. Purchased in July, It’s now almost Christmas and still doesn’t work. Local dealer aren’t interested in serving if it wasn’t bought by them. Amazon needs to pressure Generac to service their products.
