Keeps locking
The lock slides into place when I hold it in a downward position while deadheading. It's a pain having to keep stopping to unlock it. I expected more from the Corona brand.

Tough indeed
Great for trimming , solid metal center pivot , stronger thicker blades than others. Lock latch is going to last , blade thickness reduces fine work and fiskars soft touch is superior for detail. But these will out last fiskars by a long time...heavier spring can be replaced with close match and replacements are cheaper than fiskars. Remember to adjust tension by removing spring hold latch side upright at about 45degree angle. Let go other handle it should drop under gravity and scissor blades idealy bind lightly about a quarter inch from tip. This prevents wear from excess binding on blades and pressure on pivot. Adjust screw gently a fraction of a turn at a time and test closing by cutting paper as to not fold paper or bind blades too close to pivot point bearing in mind you need that binding closer to last 1 /4 to 1/3 of blade towards tip. Let one Handle drop under its own weight without much friction until it binds about 1/4" from tips.

Somewhat Very Good
Very sharp and somewhat comfortable, BUT the little plastic clip that holds the slide that holds it closed broke off after 1-1/2 seasons of use. It can still be used but not closed. A little uncomfortable in hand to use because the slide used to sometimes slide closed when using. Best to keep a finger on it when using when you had the clip.

Great Trimmers!
I purchased this trimmer for use in our small raised bed garden and general trimming purposes in some potted plants/flowers around the house. Right out of the packaging this trimmer had a great weight/feel to it and stands out as a quality product/trimmer. The price is a bit high at the time ($14) but if this lasts as long as I think it will, it would still be considered a good purchase.Very sharp blades and again, the weight is just right. Like I mentioned, we have a small garden that this works very well for trimming stems/small branches from vegetable plants--it can handle up to 3/8" branches or so with ease though I think over time that would be a bit hard on the trimmers/something larger would be in order. This product does a great job of getting in deep to cut just the right leaves/stems away leaving the remainder of the plant intact. We trimmed quite a few leaves back from deep into a small zucchini plant for example and it made the job a breeze.I am a new gardener so I really don't have much experience with alternative products. Corona seems to be a well respected brand that obviously makes quality products and we will most likely be buying other products from them in the future.

They get jammed up and you have to unscrew and tune before the being able to use them again
They get jammed up and you have to unscrew and tune before the being able to use them again . They are very sharp and precise but them getting gummed up so quick can be a hassle. They need this version with like a Teflon coating.

A necessity around my house.
These pruners are a fantastic, at a great price. I have a terrace garden, and these pruners are perfect for everything from deadheading faded flowers as well as keeping the over achieving morning glories under control.. The pruners have a great degree of cutting power for their small size. After a few growing seasons of heavy use, they are as sharp as the first use. The blades are stainless steel and have remained sharp, and I can sterilize them to prevent cross contaminationI had a pair, but my son decided he needed them more, I found out just how much I used them once they were gone. They are one of the most handy things I have around my house. Among other interests I'm a seamstress and crocheter, both of which require the use of scissors of some kind. When it comes to cutting fabric, I love these for the smaller things -- like snipping thread and clipping yarn ends. I also use them to clip coupons. These little snippers are absolutely GREAT. You wont be sorry you bought these
