I finally bit the bullet and bought a Black Rapid RS-4 camera strap. I had a couple of bulky straps with the connectors that wear out (you know who I'm talking about) and I wanted something more compact that doesn't get in the way when I hold my camera.Unfortunately the tether that comes with the black rapid strap has not been known to be sturdy. It has come loose at the most inopportune time. I paid $63 for the strap I had a hard time spending more money to buy another tether.There are you tube videos how to make an inexpensive tether from paracord , a camera strap D ring and a carabiner. I didn't want to mess with making one only to find out I made it incorrectly and have my camera and lens drop to the ground.This tether is very easy to install. One end goes thru the the camera lug and the carabiner attaches to the strap. Make sure if you have a strap like a Black Rapid you put the carabiner below the spring locks or you''ll be constantly adjusting the strap to fit the tether.The carabiner seems pretty solid and it has a very secure locking mechanism so it won't come off easily.If you're unsure that the tether included in your camera strap is unsecure don't even think twice about buying this one.

I've had for about 4 days now and was very cautious about trusting my Nikon D7100 DSLR camera with my Nikon 80-200 f2.8 (HUGE and MONSTEROUSLY heavy) lens on. So, I carefully let it swing from the shoulder strap that I bought a few months ago and then felt so much more "comfortable" when having this Safety Camera Strap also attached. I know there really is not true "fail safe" plan, but, I DID have my camera become undone from an older homemade "Rapid Strap" a year ago and was 1 single rotation from falling free of it and hitting the ground-oh my lord...so scared! If I had had this safety strap, I would not have been so fearful.Lastly, I had thought of trying to make one myself...uh...no! I've extremely handy with tools and makeshift items, but, just could not make it happen and decided just to spend the $$ and get something of quality and that looks very good. For my full piece of mind, on the rotating knob that is used to open up the metal loop to fit around the camera neck/shoulder strap, I put black electrical tape JUST to be sure it would not accidentally come lose-very, very slim chance of it, but...hey...that's just what I did and I'm completely happy with the item and the service (SAME DAY DELIVERY?? WHAT?? YES!!) Could not find one of these ANYWHERE in the Bay Area locally where I'm from. So..get it-try it-love it! :-)

This tether is an incredible value given the quality and price. Very sturdy when combined with your favorite camera sling. Not sure this is even a fair quibble, but the tether is so thick (think secure) it is a bit of a challenge to feed the rope through the camera attachment islet. Takes a few minutes and perhaps a small tool, but once attached provides true safety for your camera from falling.

Best Safety tether that I found so far... I bought other tethers from Joby , Altura ,Black Rapid tether , ....None of them can compare to this Foto&Tech tether . " True " peace of mind for very expensive camera & lens . Had to throw all other tethers away since they can be used for small cameras not like this Foto&Tech for Pro body cameras...If you are using Sling Strap like Black Rapid , Magpull from Really Right Stuff , or from Magpull , ...This is it ! Highly recommended . Also : Made in the USA !

When shooting overheads it's nice to at least "feel" I'm doing something to protect my camera & lens.Like a seat belt, it may help limit damage in case of an accident.May end up using a steel cable later on, but from the tests I've done this cord is strong enough to hold my D500 and the ballhead it's attached too in case of a slip.

Puedo parecer poca cosa, pero la sensación de seguridad que ofrece vale mucho más que su precio. Es perfecto como seguro añadido a las correas rápidas que se atornillan a la base de la cámara. Es natural sentir algo de miedo al confiar todo el peso de la cámara a ese punto. Este cordón está pensado para eso. Se coloca fácilmente en uno de los pasadores superiores de la cámara (el tradicional anclaje) y el mosquetón se fija a la propia correa rápida. Un producto perfecto.

Ich habe dieses Sicherungsseil in Ergänzung zu meinem Sun Sniper Rotaball - One erworben, dabei meiner Sony Alpha 77 II der dort vorgesehene Blocker wegen des Kameramonitors nicht anzuwenden ist. Meine Bedenken waren einfach, dass sich die Gurtschraube im Stativgewinde unbemerkt lösen könne und meine Kamera inkl. Objektiv zu Boden kracht. Um dem vorzubeugen, habe ich also dieses Sicherungsseil an eine der Gurtösen der Kamera angebracht und den Sun Sniper Gurt durch den Karabiner geführt. Sollte sich nun irgendwann tatsächlich die Stativschraube lösen und die Kamera fallen, wird sie nach ca. 15 cm aufgefangen. Mir gibt diese Vorrichtung ein besseres Gefühl und im normalen Handling stört diese Sicherung auch nicht. Ob meine Albträume bezüglich der zerschellenden Kamera überhaupt berechtigt sind, glaube ich fast nicht, aber für mich sind die 12 Euro eine gute Investition gewesen.

Es un accesorio que se requiere para mayor seguridad de tu cámara, a mi ya se me cayo una vez por accidente justo por no tener este pequeño ayudante.la calidad del producto muy buena llego muy rápido y lo recomiendo si usas straps de los que van en l aparte de abajo de la cámara, los tornillos pueden romperse o estar mal puestos como me paso a mi..mi reparación de la cámara fue de 220 USD por lo que esto es una inversion mínima para evitar un gasto tan grande
