Heart of Stone (The Stone Series Book 1)

A lot of similarities to Fifty Shades of Gray. It’s interesting, but not very original. I want to read the second book, but I don’t want to spend $5.00plus

I just finished this book and have found out that this is a new author! Big surprise for me! It also makes my appreciation of the story substantially more meaningful. This was a carefully crafted story, telling us about the relationship between Krys and Stone. While there are some emotional moments in the book, it is thankfully not angst ridden or laced with aggressive threatening outbursts from the H towards the h! What we do get is an instant, compelling attraction between 2 people when thy meet the first time, and then we get to watch them try to build a relationship together. Both characters carry a significant amount of baggage and from their pasts as they try to share their intimacy histories and define their own level of intimacy as a couple. The BDSM in this first instalment of the series is on the milder side and gives us an H that is reserved, loving, willing to capitulate to the h and thoughtful and supportive to the h! His behaviour is much more in line with "the Dom's responsibility to care for the submissive" concept that is espoused in many BDSM novels but often is not part of the story! Actually, they seem like any other new couple trying to sort out their preferences and define a level of intimacy for their new relationship. These efforts are frustrated by the couples differences and history. I'm hopeful that the next instalment will move forward, and let these two strong characters find their way to forward in this relationship. I do think the h needs to feel settled in this relationship early in the next instalment, and find some peace, so to speak. My ONLY frustration with this terrific novel is that we have another H that is a billionaire!! Puhleeze!! I will bow down (pun intended) to any author whose story is about 2 "regular" kinky characters who have normal lives(and incomes) and have jobs that have requirements of 'hours of work' and they aren't the owners of the workplace! Aren't we all curious about how that BDSM relationship would actually work!This is a compelling story that is carefully crafted to insure you connect and care about the couple and I enjoyed it very much! Recommended. 4.5/5.

What a complicated turn of events. When you think you have an idea of the path the story is taking, wham, guess again. True to form, Alex and Krystina have a rough road ahead, enjoy.

Was I prepared for the impact of this read? I think not. Was I prepared to experience this ride with Krys and Alex? Oh, yes in deed. There was that taste of intense connection from their first meeting on the floor of the display aisle in the grocer. All the way to that sweet, gentle touch in the front seat of his car. This was a deeper more intense read than I expected, but still loved the ride. I wanted so many time to lash out at so many of those encountered, run from Alex or at the least turn my back and walk away, slap Krys and tell her to get with it. This read demanded to be heard. It screamed and escape from the everyday and gave me that something extra that I was looking for.For a few hours a day for several days, I was pulled in to the world of Krys and Alex. New, exciting, pain, loss, fear, uncertainty, anger, regret, retreat, unfamiliar. Krys’ demons are exposed. Her pain exploited. Her realization of where things really were going. Painful. Sad. Real. Heartbreaking. I’m looking for the next step for Alex and Krys. How will this be resolve? When will Trevor pain? What did Jim decide? Now, what really happened in Alex’s past that has him so. . . ? I want to know so much and then so more. Much I don’t expect to have answered every because they are inconsequential things.I found me a very good read that kept me up and down. Looking forward to getting to the next chapter and what was next to be put before me. Alex and Krys show age is only a number, class is a barrier not a complete hindrance, life experiences can be binding and bonding, connections makes an impact across time. I do so recommend this read for something with a task of BDSM, conflict, strain, stress, romance, and insight.Narrator Review of . . . HEART OF STONE (Stone, #1) . . . I must give many and much props to Lucy Laurel. She was amazing. She pulled it off and then some. She could have done the whole read herself and I would not have been disappointed. She did very good with both male and female voices. Her diction clear, strong, and held that hint of allure that drew me in to her voice.Jeffery Kafer had that total sexy masculine voice that made Alex sound even sexier. I lost just a bit with Krys but the strength of his vocal talents was still there and still pleasant.The clarity and the smooth flow of the audio was there. I found no hiccups in the recording and no issues with the speed controls. This will be an audio that will get repeat play time.

Alexander was in a store trying to decide if he wanted to buy it, that's what he does, buying and advertising the space for money. He meets Krystina and decides he wants her..... Really wants her. He offers her a job at his company. Krystina was physically attracted to Alexander. She has secrets from past relationships that have really hurt her and she doesn't know what to do about Alex. Alex has his own secrets also but he's taken the next step in trying to get Krystina to get involved with him and become his sub full-time. She has no idea what he does sexually. She's willing to try. It's so confusing for her to understand his behavior. She definitely doesn't know what she really wants. Finally she decides to run away from him and his way of life! The chemistry between these two were off the charts! Enjoyed reading this story about Alex being who he was and how Krystina decided to leave him! Can't wait to read about this couple in the next book. ENJOY!!!!

I don't know why this has so many good ratings. I found the main female lead annoying as hell. 23 years old and no idea of kink? Not a single clue? And jumps to conclusions so much. Always assumes the worst about the main male lead. Don't understand why he's wasting his time with a child. The only thing she really appreciated was the job he practically handed to her. I could not finish the 2nd book. I just did not like her. He deserved someone more on his maturity level.

just finished the first book of the series and started on the second one. im looking forward to reading all 5 of the books. i highly recommend reading them. They have a good story line and have a way of making you want to continue reading.

Superbly written with a rather good storyline. Looking forward to start reading the second book of the series which is going to be as soon as I download it.

This is the first book in a series of 5. What I really like is the price. I can read all the books for under $30. First time I’ve read a book by this author and it’s a great read. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Although it is quite similar to Fifty Shades, it still has its own story. I have read all 3 Fifty Shades and will continue to read this series. I think it is well written.

Was a good read , storyline as expected a little predictable, but good twists and turns ! Worth a read and easy to follow
