Great sharpener for larger pencils. I needed a sharpener for a specific pencil that doesn’t fit my pencil sharpener and I love that this has a regular sharpener and a large. It also sharpens my Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks, Neocolor 2’s, and Tim Holtz watercolor pencils (after removing the paper.) Smooth, easy and easy to clean.

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few bucks on the Staedtler sharpener and skip the prismacolor. I have been on a huge coloring kick lately, so I purchased the prismacolor believing the quality would match the quality of their pencils. However, this proved to be untrue as it broke within a couple of weeks. Thinking it was due to my struggling to get the top off to empty the shavings (despite watching a demonstration on YouTube,) I ordered a second one and treated it with much more care, but it also broke within a week. I used a rubber band to keep the top from falling off and continued using it, but it began to chew my pencils up something awful! They were a new set so I thought maybe it was just the pencils. I finally broke down and ordered the Staedtler and it’s a HUGE improvement. Though it’s smaller, it sharpens the pencils incredibly well with only a couple quick turns. I have yet to experience the chewing up as I did with the prismacolor sharpener, but will definitely update if the sharpener goes downhill. Emptying the shavings is also significantly easier and it’s just a sturdier feel. This is a much better design in general and a much better value! So glad to have finally found a decent sharpener!

Very effective sharpener for watercolor pencils. This sharpener is easier to open & empty than the similar Prismacolor sharpener. The smaller size fits great in my watercolor travel kit.

Great sharpener for both graphite and colored pencils. Flip lid is sturdy and will hold up to repeated use. Easy to open to empty or access the sharpener to remove broken leads if needed. Packaging stickers remove easily without leaving any sticky residue. Has translucent container making it easy to see when it needs to be emptied. Can hold a good amount of pencil shavings. Great value for the cost.

Purchased this for the kids' colored pencils, and it worked well for their regular writing pencils as well. (Granted - I'm not picky. I use a particular electric sharpener for my own stuff; this is just for the children.) Then they broke a few crayons, and I had a hard time finding a manual crayon sharpener. So I tried this. It also sharpens crayons on the larger hole!

First of all, I’m very happy about the two sharpening layout of the sharpener, just knowing there are course and fine point options on this was great to see, the cover works fantastically and the product feel just makes someone whom uses coloring with pencils feel like they’re really being designed for as it’s not to large and keeping it together within a backpack or a desk seems very manageable as it’s also noticeable. I’m thrilled to have the product and spend some time drawing and coloring.
