I got these because they are similar to the one the casualty gave me. I thought they'd be better than my usual ice bag using a zip lock. The zip lock leaks. But so does this one. And the cloth cover reduces the cold effect. Maybe this is good to avoid burning the skin with too much cold. But then the pain reducing effect of the ice is also reduced. Too much in my opinion. This is for a broken clavicle which is very painful. Maybe for mild muscle strains this would work fine. I went back to my zip lock bag. The pain reduction is a relief.

I have been sent home from surgery with this style refillable Ice bag several times. While I often use jell filled bags that last for years, they cant keep up with the "Ice every 30 minutes" cycle my foot surgery required. These last for many uses (I got about 10 times per bag), are easy to fill because of the larger funnel shaped opening. The fuzzy flocking does a great job at whisking away the sweat that forms on the outside of the bag (except for the large label (it gets pretty wet), the size is great and so are the ties. I'm really frustrated by round refillable Ice bags and I consider them a terrible design, you cant wrap and tie them. This idea is so superior to those that my only complaint is why haven't they been made with durable materials able to last for years? I really dislike the wastefulness of disposables.

These are very soft and seem durable the second bag is still holding up well after several refills. Prior to refilling the bag I check for leaks.

The ice bag was promptly delivered and immediately put to use. The first bag I used started leaking as soon as the ice began to melt, but the the 2nd and 3rd bag I tried are still working without incident. I was concerned about another leak occurring, so I placed another order of 5. These are truly the best ice bags I have ever used. They stay cool for hours without fear of injuring your skin. While disappointed about the leak, I still highly recommend. Thanks!

Used these post-op from a hip surgery, these were close to the ones used at the hospital. We’re good for a few uses, did eventually leak though. Still happy with them and much better than a ziplock!

This has been a really essential part of knee replacement recovery. These bags are reliable and comfortable. Best option for sure.
