Okay, but could be better
I had something like this when I was young and always remembered my wonder and fascination. I thought it would be a great gift for some children in my life so got some. It does work, but.. the stick is very rough and actually gave me a splinter! Also, I found that it was difficult to use. The prongs that are in this particular spool knitter seem to be very wide and it makes the knitting feel very tight, even though I try to make it as loose as possible. I think in future I would try a different brand just using pegs and see if that was better. Also, a pet peeve but the inside is rough and as a knitted/crafter it bothers me to think of the cord being abraded by that. It is a decent gift for a child, but I would definitely switch out the stick with a double pointed needle. That splinter really hurt!
