Was rather scared that the stickers would ruin the cover as mentioned on other previous reviews but thankfully the sticker was only applied to the sealed packet so the books came in fresh and neat. Absolutely loved the packaging too with a heavily bubble wrapped sealed box.❤

I didn't expect this to be so good. I totally loved it , good quality, good price, good binding,good text etc... Everything is perfect ❣️

Received the package today. All books were neatly packed. The reason for reducing 1 star is the quality of pages though good, the clothbound embossing of the cover design is very poorly implemented. When you're reading a book for long, it's but obvious that your hands will get some amount of sweat, due to this the paint on the binding gets rubbed & it sticks to your hand. Bit disappointed by Penguin on this aspect for such beautiful clothbound editions. I doubt this problem might be with all the clothbound editions hence restraining myself from ordering further Penguin-Clothbound editions. This must be improved in future publications.

The product arrived in a great condition without any damage. The books themselves are awesome as well. They are all unabridged versions, pages are bright and the print is clear. The cloth bound hardcovers are incredibly beautiful to look at❤ Penguin is a pretty renowned publishing house and this particular collection comes under their special edition of cloth bound classics so there's no doubt that the product is awesome.

The books came on time and it was well packed. But inside, the box itself had dents in the corners but the books inside were unharmed .. I'm not sure if it's meant look like that but the covers look a bit faded for me. The paper quality itself is very good. I bought this book-set for rs1609 so I'm happy over all..

I am a great fan of beautiful books and high quality special editions. The Penguin Clothbound Classics Bronte edition is a fabulous set worthy of space on any collectors bookshelf. The designs are really good and the books are well made and feel fantastic. The box of this set is also very fine with a tasteful design and manufactured to a high standard. The set is easily worthy of a 5 star rating. There is however a problem with this set and the clothbound classics range in general.....The stickers on the back of the books! They damage the books in two ways, firstly they leave a sticky residue on the cloth of the books. This is both sticky and soaks into the cloth cover binding leaving a darker coloured patch where the sticker has been. Secondly the sticker itself pulls the printed paint/ink away from the cloth. Three of the four books in this set had stickers on the back and all three stickers left similar damage. I have added photos of two of the books where the damage is clearly visible. I was also really careful removing the stickers , and did so on the day of purchase. This is a problem that could be easily resolved by either wrapping the individual book in cellophane before applying the sticker, or adding a paper band with the sticker information attached. In fact the books in this set did not need stickers at all. The whole box was wrapped in cellophane anyway. I really want to buy more of these books as there are some super designs. As a collector, these books can never be perfect and puts me off buying further editions.

I’ve had the same issues with the stickers, and I don’t understand how this doesn’t bother the 5-star reviewers.It’s a box set for collectors, people who want more than the standard book on the shelf, and the packaging is as important as any other aspect of this product. Otherwise the kindle version would’ve been fine!Sort it out, Penguin Classics. It’s a stupid, unnecessary error to be making in this day and age.

Beautiful books totally ruined by the ugly cheap white sticker on the back of every one of them. If you remove it, it leaves a mess and takes off some of the print from the cover.

I was initially concerned that my copies of these books would be plagued by the stickers that I’ve seen other reviewers have, however I can confirm that this is not the case and there were no stickers at all on my books. These books are beautifully packaged and presented, and I can’t speak highly enough about this set. Highly recommend

The novels themselves are classics, and are books I have read numerous times.I won’t review the books here but they are worth a read.However the case and the bindings of the books is beautiful. I purchased this at £45 so this worked out a lot cheaper than direct off of the penguin website. However, I would happily pay full price with how beautiful the binding looks and feels.The case they come in isn’t the strongest but it also backed with a similar material as the books and this gives it a wonderful impression when on a bookcase.This would be a perfect present for a book lover who is wanting something a little special.
