The Coding Manual for Qualitative Researchers

Instructive and Well-Written
I was able to quickly read through this well-written manual before starting the coding process for my doctoral study. The author gives an exhaustive account of possible coding strategies for qualitative analysis. This book has been a guide, a source of inspiration, and a catalyst for the progress of my thesis.

A terrific book. I learned a tremendous amount. Thank you to the author, Johnny Saldana
This is just a terrific, well-written, interesting book. It is important to read whether one is doing the work of evaluation or being evaluated. The book will help support genuine and informed conversations about why something is being assessed in the way it is being assessed and what is being left out. I believe that those kinds of conversations are really needed and result in even better questions being asked in the first place. I have suggested it to several colleagues in higher education and in the K-12 sector. I am, myself, in higher education and have been engaged in program assessment and evaluation for many years.Thank you Johnny Saldana!

Grateful that I found this book
I am grateful that I found this book. It is indeed a manual as its title says. It introduces coding and its various methods and goes beyond the coding stage to developing constructs and theories. Each coding method comes with a practical example on how to apply it. Johnny Saldana also tells you how to write about coding. I have been using this manual for coding 48 interviews and will rely on it to induct a theory and to write about my coding experience. The book is written in simple English and it is very easy to follow. I also got Qualitative Data Analysis by Miles, Huberman and Saldana. I feel lucky to have found it. Thank you Mr Saldana.
