I got an early look at Meghan Sylvester’s new book. The Body Positivity Journal. For a mystic who thrives on an opportunity to look within, this book is a treasure chest. So many prompts…. Sooo many chances for self reflection and self evaluation 😍Loved these questions- “What tactics have you adopted to conceal or alter your true nature? How is this impacting your happiness today?” 🤩🤩🤩

Breaking belief systems
I love how this book is full of prompts and mantras to help us break the beliefs we were taught that our bodies betray us, our health is in the hands of other people, etc and to replace them with love, nurture, intuition and trust in our bodies. Bringing back sovereignty to ourselves for ourselves. This is a must for everyone.

YEEEESSSSSSS PLEASE
This is the book I should have had all my life. As a woman hitting 50, I would have benefited from this tremendously as a teen, as a young adult, when I had kids, etc. You get the idea - great for ALL ages, sexes, etc. The questions make you think - what did you try to camouflage as a child? How does your family feel about bodies? They're longer questions than that, but just for the idea - you gotta dig for where your beliefs about your body came from so that you can squash them! You talk to your insecurities - yes, do it. You look at the toxic people in your social circle - do it. You look at healthy role models - do it. Overall, this book had a LOT more than I was anticipating. I thought I was going to be writing affirmatios about loving my cellulite, but it really gets to WHY you are not experiencing body positivity and then easing you into being a self-care advocate. Writing down my thoughts and feelings prompted in this journal helped me to take a hard look at how judgemental I have been to MYSELF. There are some lovely pages of inspiration throughout. A letter to the body from Sarah brought me to tears. The book I received is paperback and I love that it's soft and opens well, allowing for ample writing space. I really love this body positivity journal.

Therapy sessions in a book
I adore this book, as someone who had an eating disorder and still struggles with intrusive thoughts here and there this is by far one of the most helpful tools I've ever used. Whenever one of those awful thoughts come knocking I open the book and fill out a few pages and it genuinely makes me feel better about my body and keeps the bad thoughts at bay. It reminds me with quotes and passages why my body is strong and wonderful and why I should be more kind to myself, it my body perfect? no. Do I still deserve peace within myself and love that comes within for my body, 100% yes and this book reminds me to not be so hard on myself.

helpful guide
Nice book to help view yourself more positively. Has reading and then prompts to help taking a look at yourself more objectively. The book is written for anyone no matter the gender preference. You definitely will only get out of this book what you put into it. It will be helpful if you actually take a look at the questions and exercises and do them or at least attempt to do them.

Thought provoking!
This book has amazing yet triggering prompts that are so helpful to dive deep in the psyche and transform the way we view our bodies. I was provided with an advance review copy and dove in & I can honestly say it alerted me to so much that I didn’t realize I carried regarding wanting to be perfect and look perfect. I was always so hard on myself. I have an hourglass curvy and muscular build & in my early 20’s I’d eat 800 cals a day to maintain an unhealthy weight just to look “perfect”. Now, I see the beauty of allowing my body to eat intuitively yet healthy and nourishing food. I workout and move my body to keep it strong as I age. It’s less about keeping up appearances and more about loving myself as I am and striving for optimal health. Thank you, Meg for an amazing book. Proud of you for prompting these conversations and being the light for all who may struggle with body positivity!
