Best work by J. Kenner and undoubtedly one of my top 2020 read!
Move over Damien Stark. A new king is here. Something unimaginable and extraordinary has happened in My Fallen Saint. Devlin Saint just captured my heart's number one spot as broken, dominating and delicious alpha man from J. Kenner. This story was explosive and enticing. It was such a powerful mix of passion, suspense and angst. I have no words. No words.Ellie is back to her home town Laguna Cortez after years. This sea side town is associated with pain, guilt and regret for her. She lost her family and her first love broken her heart. Now she works as an investigative journalist following the path of her father who gave his life as cop. She has two purposes. One, to look into new evidences and informations coming into light about her uncle Peter's murder. Second, to write a profile about the elusive billionaire Devlin Saint. Who created Devlin Saint Foundation that is a major force in philanthropic activities like stopping human trafficking has changed Laguna Cortez financially. Will she find the truth about her family? Who is Devlin Saint? Is he really a saint? This story is unique in the sense both Ellie and Devlin are very strong characters with complex past. So they have this intense dynamics. There is always a power play going on. And that was just breathtaking. Ellie has experienced loss and abandonment. And she thrives on danger and thrill now. She is fearless. She is stubborn and relentless in pursuit of truth even if her life at risk. That is why she is so irresistibly attracted to Saint. He gives this aura of danger and darkness. He has this calm, confident and empowering persona to the world and for his charity work. But he is hiding secrets those can change everything. He is gorgeous, controlling, edgy and infuriating. But he holds such an aching heart that I couldn't help but break and fall for him. He couldn't hide the monsters inside from Ellie. They have this living breathing connection. They shouldn't be together. They have too much toxic emotions. But they are also soulmates. In a twisted epic way. Fate has brought them together and they have to fight the world together. The chemistry was electrifying. I was just having goosebumps and palpitations each time they came together. So much heat! And also so much heart! The storyline is beyond complicated. The twists and turns were brutal. The pieces are still in the air. And I cannot wait to see how these come together. You will be shocked for sure. Because I didn't see those punches coming. My Fallen Saint by J. Kenner was an adventurous romance. Devlin and Ellie's sinful and heartaching story has just began. But it has already stolen my heart. Each moment was an emotional and sexy treat. Each chapter was a surprise. Best work by J. Kenner and undoubtedly one of my top 2020 read!Received ARC for honest review

Discovery... Control... Forgiveness... Surrender...?
This book is attention grabbing from the very beginning and fascinates with continual changes of plot throughout. J. Kenner uses her phenomenal writing skills and expertise to set the prologue for this intriguing story. The speeding car is personified and the small town of Laguna Cortez is described. Deceptively it seems innocent and peaceful when viewed from a distance. It reminds me of the tranquil opening scene and style of 'Mice and Men'. Throughout the book single words, phases and sayings are cleverly used by the author to pull in the reader, evoke memories and feelings or to create mental images. We certainly know what this saying means; 'whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas'...A refreshingly new romantic world is created featuring a many faceted, tortured alpha male. Delvin Saint is wealthy, sexy, charismatic, has business acumen and lives for dominance and control. He has adorable, even admirable qualities. But behind his outward facade of calm and authority that he has fabricated, he is dangerous. And he has dark secrets which he has purposely kept hidden away, in the shadows for years. But why?And Ellie Holmes our heroine is strong, beautiful, determined and tenacious. She is real and believable. She is intent on looking for truth. She is relentlessly searching for answers to tragic and unforgettable events in her past. And these are irresistibly and intriguingly linked to Laguna Cortex and Devlin Saint. But how? And why?Well, hurry and grab your copy of this awesome book and find out the connections and answers yourself. I live in anticipation for the next book 'My Beautiful Sin' to satisfy my continuing curiosity.

Secrets have a past
I have read most of this authors novels and the majority I have thoroughly enjoyed and felt some better than others. This one is to me by far the best storyline she has ever written so far. The alpha Male Devlin is so fragmented but protective. He has some earth shattering secrets that the reader learns as we go through the story. He had a dark past that haunts him and leaves him running. We have the heroine Ellie a girl who has courted tragedy most of her life, and Devlin has a large part in that. However we cannot keep the wolf from the door, it is knocking and the consequences could be lethal. There is every sort of emotion in this novel. Deliciously and delightfully written it is a sheer joy. Really absorbing and extremely difficult to put down , until the bitter end.

Another fantastic five star book from Ms Kenner
I really love reading all of Ms Kenner’s books especially the ones about the gorgeous Stark family and the spin off series . ❤️❤️ So when this series of books were announced I thought no alpha male could compete with my Damian but boy how I was wrong . Now some one shares his top spot that is MR Devlin Saint , has all the charisma and sexyness ooozing out of his pours he’s edgy and dark like Damian with so many secrets , and from the little tease we had at the end of the first book there’s still a lot more to come . The main female character is Ellie Homes who’s life was turned upside down, when first her mother dies , and then her father who was the police chief died in the line of duty . Her only living relative is her rich Uncle Peter who she goes to live with. On Ellie’s 16 th birthday she meets the person that’s helping her uncle with his work, the boy in question is Alex Leto and the two obviously are attracted to one another, in fact the only thing that’s holding him back is Ellie’s age . Ellie was dealt another emotional blow when her BFF Brandy and her family moved away suddenly . At least for the time being Ellie was happy to go home knowing that she’ll be able to see Alex ,but in the back of her mind that soon he’d be leaving to go to college . Then on her 17 th birthday thing moved more in the direction she wanted although never going far enough that was until two months after her birthday when she received the devastating news that her Uncle had been killed . That’s when she turned to Alex and finally got what they both wanted ,but instead of cuddling and talking after the event Alex up and left and Ellie never saw him again , until !!!!!! .......... and no I’m not continuing you’ll need to read the book to find out . There’s loads of OMG 😱moments and revelations galore it was a thrilling start to what I’m sure is going to be an epic story . ❤️❤️😍😍

Inconsistent
Is this a thriller, a steamy sex novel or a sweet romance? Characters that fit i one scenario are clearly unsuitable or uncomfortable in the other, and it shows. The thriller is lost in the confusing story. The romance is inconsistent; people do not change their personalities in the manner described; and the sex scenes feel like an afterthought. A very long afterthought. It is not surprising that it will take three volumes to tie this up, you therefore need to be committed before you begin, but I don't think I want to take it further.

Good but no cigar
The first 55% of the book was pants and a bit too much ‘Magnum PI’ - thank goodness for the 2nd half which was far better! It just ‘eeked’ to a 4 star. Just! Not sure it quite deserved the rave reviews some readers gave it. I will read book 2, but this one will not be going on my coveted ‘Books I would read twice list’
