Makes planning practice much easier!
This is my first season coaching 5 year olds. I’ve always coached much older kids. About three practices into the season, I realized I needed help finding drills that were age appropriate, engaging, fun, and most of all- kept their attentions. This book was a lifesaver. My practice planning went from hours of looking online for drills to about 10 minutes.I like how the book is divvied into categories like passing, dribbling, etc. The pictures are super helpful.

Great for First-Time Coaches
As a first-time coach for my daughter’s first grade soccer team, I was a bit nervous that I wasn’t going to be able to fill a 60-minute practice session with enough content. This book really helped me plan and organize my sessions with great ideas for warm-ups, dribbling, passing and shooting! The book is well organized and contains great descriptions for new coaches!

Randomly pick a few pages -> instant practice
I just started coaching U7 soccer and really didn't know a darn thing about soccer. Before each practice I just flip randomly through this book, and usually I read over 10 different games, and use about 5 of them. I write them down on a sheet of paper and there I have my practice plan. The games are fun, diverse, and useful. It keeps the kids interested, and makes every practice unique. What is great is that in under 15 minutes I have a useful practice plan, which is great for a procrastinator like me.

Organized Approach to Teaching Soccer Basics
My daughter (a High School soccer player) is older now and volunteered to coach a recreation league soccer team for her six year old daughter. She started out overwhelmed but was able to use this book to create fun drills and organized practices. Recommend to would be coaches.

I read the book before giving it to her and found it to be a great resource for anyone coaching at the younger levels
I have over 30 years experience coaching all levels of soccer. I bought this book for my daughter who is coaching for the first time at the U-6 level. I read the book before giving it to her and found it to be a great resource for anyone coaching at the younger levels. It does a good job of explaining the reason for each drill and how it establishes fundamental building blocks for a variety of skills. A few of the drills might be a little advanced for U-6 at the recreational level, but it is a great reference book to have in the library. I like the author's philosophy for teaching soccer at this age level. Very good book for the beginning coach at these age levels.

The best book I have found for coaching kids!
I used this book when I got roped into coaching my son's U-9 soccer team. I played for 30 years but had no idea how to coach an unruly group of 3rd graders. All the other books I tried expected entirely too much discipline and sophisticated understanding out of young children. These drills are simple, fun, effective, and, very importantly, executable even if you only have 8 kids at practice. After only a few practices using these drills, my team was suddenly passing and playing defense like they had been doing it for years (and making me look a lot more competent.)I should also add that I have never been moved to leave a review before, but this book was really that good.

This will be a tremendous help this season
I volunteered to coach my daughter's soccer team when we were left coachless. The drills in this book are divided by skill, but many drills cover a few skills. Each drill is made out to be a game and emphasis is placed on ensuring the drills go quickly with the most "touches on the ball" as possible while still making it fun and worthwhile. For future additions it would be nice if the drill/games were given clever names. It makes it easier to sell a game/drill to this age range when you can call it a fun name. I may just make up my own names for these this season anyway.
