I’ve always been a Polk fan mostly because I think they understand base very well. But this time when looking for shelf speakers I did a lot of homework checking out other brands in the price range but these Polks came out extremely well. When listening you would quickly understand with instrumentals clearly there along with great base, I highly recommend them!

The ES20 by Polk is lovely rich and full sounding speaker, producing a reasonable sound stage with adequate separation. Expect to receive sufficient base from this unit if your a music lover. Regarding power, the speakers are driven well by lower watt amps. I'm using an old NAD 310 which is 25WPC, and I don't even hit 12 o'clock on the volume dial and these speakers are good and loud, while retaining clarity and no muddiness in the bass. Value for money, I bought these at the cost of 250 Euros and I would say they are great value. I only gave 4 stars as i feel these speakers are a touch base heavy without reasonable EQ solutions. Don't get me wrong, sometimes the base sound signature is spot on for some tracks, but in other, it can be a touch overpowering and you loose some of the mid range detail. I wouldn't spend 300 euro on these, but 250 seems a reasonable deal. Functionally, they do what they are supposed to, and do it exceptionally well.

the sound wow... the bass the bass! rich, full heavy in that i Mean as it feels weighty sounding extremely warm and "open" even on a low volume level!!! I also noticed This speaker is not fatiguing at all. I must point out the vocals and treble have a warm tone the treble is soft and the vocals are similar as they are not "shouty" I wouldn't say the vocals are "vailed" but the mid range is slightly set back compared to the Dali Zensor 3's I had that had more of a focus on the mid range area especially vocals and mid instruments etc My Dali's got some slight surface damaged most wouldn't see.... but my OCD made it unbearable for me to live with and looking for some to replace them with was a nightmare I scaled it down to the Q Acoustics 3030i ,Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 , Monitor Audio Bronze 100 Or These Polk Es20. all reviewed as excellent speakers without hearing any I just had to take a chance on looks and price so I will never know....but I did want a "fun" sounding speaker the "smile" spectrum setting and the only 2 that had similar was the Polk and the Monitor ones. The Dali Zensor 3 had. 7" driver so I didn't want to go less so it had to be the Bronze 100's with an 8" driver and most bookshelf speakers are around 5". but I wasn't keen on the too "squared" off box and the real awful design of the front grills put me off. they just dont look good together at all even thought they supposedly have the "fun" sound and go relitivily low around the 30-40hz similar to the Polk! So I was left with the ES20 as my final choice that have a 6.5" woofer so its not too much of a compromise and these do have a deeper cabinet than the Dali's so I wouldn't imagine they would sound any worse and to my ears sound wonderful so I dont regret it plus they look good and Amaon topped it off offered with the excellent pay in 5 month on these and not on the Monitor ones so that was the final decision made!!! I don't buy particular branded cables or speaker wire I just got what my marantz could use with spades not sure if sound quality is influenced by these I'm. Just comparing the speakers in my same set up now a few negatives (the build quality for the most part is really good but with close inspection looking down the side shows ripples and strange bumps in places and there is raised parts of vinyl near the front baffle so the fit and finish is meh especially among the seems that has missing vinyl in places. with slight wood fibres showing. this really has started to annoy me I know most will say for the price what do we expect but when I fully examined them there were a few dints in the edges the power port is also not aligned perfectly to the back leaving a "raised ridge" to the left side but less flush on the right. I should add I have OCD and I am a perfectionist so what bothers me may not bother others either way these are real issues in quality control with that said im not happy as much as I am with the sound quality I was thinking of returning them due to these issues but I might have to just live with it and fill the imperfections in with a white acrylic pen around the edges the bumps and "lifting vinyl" can't be fixed however. Still I can't take away that the bass is truly outstanding.

Buscaba unos altavoces de estantería con buenos graves y que no me gastará un dineral, estos ES20 me llamaron mucho su atención, conozco la marca porque ya tengo un central T30 que suena muy bien para películas y otros T15 que los uso como traseros de 5.1 y también suenan muy bien. Los ES20 los compré de oferta a buen precio, y llegaron en 1 semana, la entrega muy bien y procedo a desembalar que vienen muy bien protegidos, son espectaculares muy bonitos y de un acabado de mucha calidad, son bastante profundos lo que le da ese sonido con tanto cuerpo, el sistema que utiliza en su parte trasera como "bass reflex" es un avance en la tecnología/ingeniería, con este sistema no importa que el altavoz esté pegado a la pared , su diseño hace que se reparta la salida del aire sin ningún problema y con ello crear unos espectaculares graves sin esfuerzo. Me han sorprendido mucho , no me esperaba que unos altavoces de estantería sonarán como unos de suelo , increíble, el Twitter es verdaderamente claro y afina muy bien los siseos tanto de diálogos como de música sin ser para nada extridentes. Los recomiendo sin lugar a dudas , si buscas unos altavoces de estantería potentes , buenos en graves , con estos ES20 vas a disfrutar de tu música y de tus películas , sin ocupar todo tu comedor con grandes altavoces de suelo, es una opción muy válida y de calidad. Un 10 para polk audio por estos altavoces.

Super Klang für den Preis Hammer Habe sie mit den KEF Q5 und KEF iq5 verglichen und die Bühne ist voller und grösser . Der Bass ist enorm und die Höhen klarer .

Je recherchais une paire d'enceintes pas trop chères et j'étais tombé par hasard sur les E10 qui avaient de bonnes évaluations et dont les test sur internet étaient bons. Ayant juste la possibilité de les mettre sur une étagère, je n'ai donc pas pu prendre ce modèle qui a un évent arrière qui se serait trouvé contre le mur et n'aurai donc pas pu faire ce qu'il doit. J'ai donc choisi la gamme au dessus avec ces E20 qui grâce à leur évent adapté permet de les coller au mur. Je ne suis pas déçu car ces enceintes sont parfaites pour moi. Pas trop encombrante (par rapport à des colonnes) elle me permettent d'avoir de bonnes basses quel que soit le volume d'écoute et une bonne séparation des différentes composantes des musiques que j'écoute.
