WTB 29er 29 inch Wheels for 26 Inch Fat Bike Conversion Spacing 170mm / 135mm with Nano 29 x 2.1 Tires

I received the wheels on Thursday, February 2. I filled both with 42 PSI. Did not install on bike. Checked the pressure on Saturday: front pressure at 32 PSI, the back was down to 34 PSI in 3 days. I had contacted the seller prior to buying, since another Amazon buyer had complained about the tubes going flat without using after a few days. The seller assured me it was buyer's fault. This is what she said:"The buyer inflated the tube without the tire bead being fully seated. The bead popped off the rim, the tube was exposed and without a tire to hold its shape - the tube failed. Inflate new tires and tubes slowly...making sure the bead is fully seated all the way around on both sides. And try not to focus on just the negative reviews when evaluating a product." (If you read the other review, this misinformation was never mentioned).As a former XC (Expert category) cyclist and bicycle mechanic , I was suspicious about the seller's answer, as the tires I received (29"X2.1") were tight on the rim, and the tubes/tires were already on the rim. Unfortunately, the seller doesn't know what she's talking about, most likely because she is not a bike mechanic, nor does she have the requisite expertise in the area. I believe she was talking about Fat Tire for example, a 26"X4" is almost always loose and needs to be massaged when putting air in the tube slowly making sure it's fully seated all the way around or you immediately get a flat while inflatingFurthermore, I decided to put only the front on one of my bikes (Biktrix). Discovered the quick release is too short. Meaning you get not even one full turn before you have to close the QR. That is unacceptable and dangerous since you will hit a good bump and the QR will strip, and the wheel will fly off.I then proceeded to try on one of my other tour bikes with 135mm/ 170mm. This time a RadRover from Rad Power Bikes, same thing - too short. In order to be safe, you need 4-6 full turns. The bearing when you spin the wheel, can be felt grinding. Returning immediately. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT.

Can't really beat the price for the wheelset. Tires and tubes were an added bonus but don't trust the tubes.Rear tube failed with a 6 inch tear on the underside (facing rim) at 50 PSI before riding at all. Happened while sitting in the garage overnight.I reused an old tube I had to replace it.I thought "well what are the chances that could happen again?" regarding the front.Went for a shortish ride the next day and all appeared to hold up well. Checked pressure after the ride just to see if there were any leaks - none. Happy with the purchase I put the bike away.Overnight the tube gremlins visited again and the front failed with a 4 inch tear on the underside (toward the rim).Rims are smooth and rim strip looks perfect and not displaced.Hope this saves someone some time.

The box and the wheels arrived undamaged and in good shape. I have not used the rear wheel but rather decided to use the 29 inch wheel on the front while leaving the 26x4 fat tire in the back to give me some rear cushion. I had an extra an extra break disc break rotor laying around and it went on the front wheel no problem. The wheels came with WTB tires and tubes, I added a puncture protection slip and some flat out. Looks nice and rolls true. If you have a fat bike with 135mm front hub spacing and 170mm rear hub spacing and disc breaks this will work for you.

These wheels fit perfectly on my 2020 Framed MN fat bike. Now I have a wheelset for paved trails during the summer. Thank you now my bike is 2 bikes in 1. Packaged very well also!Front axle is 135mm 9mm axleRear axle is 170mm 10mm axle
