Really decent for the price.
This soldering stand is pretty good. No assembly instructions and you'll require a thin set of pliers to get one of the screws on, but its very sturdy /weighty and has a decent iron holder.I do wish the solder guide hole had less resistance on it though.Looks more expensive than it is

No more burned carpets or table tops! Here's your answer!
I had been thinking about investing in something like this, but many of them came with soldering irons already built-in. Then, I came across this one -- perfect! Price was exceptional, but I was worried about the quality as well. After reading many of the reviews, and the satisfaction of other buyers, I could tell this one would do the job.Although the unit doesn't come with instructions, set-up is really a no-brainer. If you know how to solder a terminal, et al, then you won't have any problem setting it up. The ONLY thing you'll have to attach is the tip barrel to the side of the unit. There's only ONE WAY it will fit, and all you'll need is a phillips head screwdriver. There is a small piece of double-stick tape to attach the stainless steel pan to the base, and you're ready to go. The unit is METAL, STURDY, and built for just about any project. Perfect for ANY/ALL hand held soldering iron, and has plenty of depth for just about any of the ones on the market today.I use two types of solder for most of my projects - a 0.3 mm plain, and a 2.3 mm rosen-core. Both spools fit nicely on the holder, so that's a plus! I think the guide is more useful for smaller gauges of solder (like the 0.3 mm), but has a diameter that will certainly handle much larger. Handle is a nice option too, as you can swing it towards the back to prevent the solder spool from sliding out.Plain and simple -- this thing is all you'll need. For most of us, we just wanted a way to keep the soldering iron stationary (but hot) while in-between uses. Honestly, I've done my share of having a hot iron touch something that wasn't supposed to be touched. This thing is DEFINITELY any answer to that! For the price...you just can't go wrong!PROS:* Sturdy all-metal unit (except sponge).* Easy to set-up in less that 2 minutes.* Can handle 2-3 small size spools of solder (depending on width of spool).* Black paint is applied very well - no flaking.* No plastic at all!CONS:* No instructions -- but if you know how to solder, then I'm sure you'll figure it out - EASY!

solid base for your soldering iron
The base is well made and solid. I like that you can put spools of solder on stand to keep everything compact. Just tried it out and very happy with it

Solid, heavy, feature rich soldering station for an excellent price. 5/5
I was recently looking for a soldering stand for my Hakko 508 and came across this guy. For nearly the same price as one of the many other spring barrels, this thing is feature packed and very solid. It has a place to hold your solder reel, it comes with a tray and sponge as pictured, a solid soldering iron barrel and also has a handle. It came in a box nearly fully assembled, the only thing that needed assembly was screwing on the barrel which just required me to use a philips screwdriver. The entire thing is approximately 6.25x5x3.25 inches (LxWxH).If you are looking for a solid, nonflimsy soldering station then you've found it. For what you pay for this guy is surprisingly feature packed and well built. The soldering iron barrel is solid and will not budge, it does not sag or move or anything. It is just a solid two piece barrel, the inner barrel and the outer hole-punched sheet of metal to keep you from burning yourself. It also has a very nice weight to it. It will not budge if you accidentally tap it or give it a small nudge so there is no fear in accidentally tipping over your stand and having your burning hot iron fall. It comes with a sponge and tray, has a place to hold your solder and even has a handle. This is a very solid purchase for the price, and I am definitely satisfied with my purchase.Pros- Solid soldering iron barrel: no sagging, can handle heavy irons- Heavy: will not tip over at a nudge- Feature rich: sponge+tray, solder reel, handle, solid iron barrelCons- Somewhat large? If you're absolutely concerned about space, which to be honest I would hope you aren't soldering in a confined space, then it may be a bit big.
