Q: Will this extract coolant from the system as well?

You need to drain radiator, then it extracts all the air. I did not notice any coolant during that process, but it did work well. Then after air is evacuated, put tube in new coolant and open valve it sucks coolant back into system, minus the air.

Q: Will this work for the duramax diesel

I am not sure how big capacity of Duramax cooling system is. If it is not too big and you have enough container to hold the antifreeze an d the vacuum reach green target on the gauge you should be ok when you open the fill valve atmopheric pressure will push antifreeze in the container untill vacuum in your cooling system drop equal to atmospheric pressure the flow of antifreeze to radiator through the valve will stop. The key is you need to have enough capacity of the container to service this kind of task.

Hi, this tool needs to be vacuumed, not pumped in. If you have a manual vacuum pump with American or European air quick coupler (can connect to the tool), then it is OK. Manual vacuum pump may take more time, and you may also have to work harder.
