Excellent historical account
Fascinating account of a little known event in history. Extremely well researched and the author brings it all together in a clear fashion.

The history of the Commission for Relief in Belgium during WWI
This is a well researched and well written account of the people and events involving the Commission for Relief in Belgium, CRB, lead by Hoover and carried out by a group of young, enthusiastic Americans. The purpose of the CRB was to supply much needed food to the starving Belgian population during World War One. Belgium was occupied by the German army on their way to conquer France, and in order to prevent Germany from using the Belgian harbors for importing and exporting food and other goods, England blockaded all Belgian ports. But that also meant that Belgium could not import their much needed food and other necessities.
